My brother is a type 2 diabetic, currently disabled, not due to diabetes, so I am helping care for him.

I am finding supplies that he no longer uses. I have a box of BD Ultra-fine III short pen needles that he hasn't used in a really long time. How can I give them to somebody who can use them? I hate to throw things away.

He also has a drawer full of pump supplies that he hasn't used in years. BC/BS authorized an insulin pump, but then wouldn't cover the supplies so he quit using it. I haven't gone through those yet.

I just tossed them in the trash. I was hoping that someone could use these things.

He got a new One Touch UltraLink that wirelessly sends glucose results to a pump. When he got a letter a month ago that he was going to receive it, I called and told them that he no longer used a pump, but they sent it anyways.

Hi, I sent you a PM about this, but maybe you didn't see it.

I could use the pump supplies, please let me know.

You may want to give it a few days before tossing things. Sometimes people get busy and can only check online every once in a while! It's nice of you to offer up the things you aren't using! :cwds:

If somebody could use the new meter, still unopened in the box, I would rather give it to them then toss it. It has wireless capabilities.

Pump supplies are taken, but the pen needles and the meter are still available.
