Hello! My name is Danielle and I have been diabetic for almost 22 years. I recently switch to the Animas 2020 pump in March. Prior to the switch, I was on Novolog and Lantus (and before that Humilin R and NPH.....and before that Beef/Pork R and NPH).

A little about me......my husband and I have been married for 6 years and in 2004 we had our son, Alexander. Despite my diabetes, my pregnancy was perfectly healthy and Alexander was born healthy, as well. After such a success, I felt that I really wanted to someone "give back" for our good fortune, so I started nursing school this January. My end goal is to work in pediatric diabetes care.

I've always had very good control, but the stress of nursing school started to make my averages rise.....so I started to think about pumps. I decided on an Animas 2020 and was "connected" in March. I think it has absolutely helped tighten my readings and the best result is that I no longer am having middle of the night lows (which I frequently had with Lantus).

I looked forward to meeting those of you on this site and hearing your stories. :)
