My mom told me last week she is leaving for Mexico (Monterray) August 24 for a two week stay, to run a clinic there. She did this in Belize two yrs ago and since she is Type 1 diabetic, she brought insulin, syringes, pamplets, meters, strips, etc with her to give to the residents near by who had no medical care and unmanaged T1 or T2 diabetes. Shes a D educator, RN. If anyone is interested they can PM me and I'll pass along either her home address or her church address. I used to get scared with her going on these mission trips. Shes blind! Has been for two decades. But she takes her husband along who is a great seeing eye dog. :p Since I know some people in the past here have been able to offer extra supplies, I thought I would ask, but if you can't please dont. :o Im happy I get to donate Novolog, Kat never has used her full 3 month supply before. Me and the kids did a project for her yesterday, we made a large 14" by 11" bound flipchart with how to manage diabetes written in spanish, illustrated with pictures (because some cant read) drawn by me, my oldest daughter, and colored by my kids. It was fun. If ya'll have any other ideas let me know.
