Ok, we are going to Adventureland and I am wondering what I need to know about rides. Do we need to disconnect for roller coasters? Do we need to worry about rides that spin? It is a rather small amusement park so nothing huge but I want to go prepared. Any tips on amusement parks would be greatly appreciated :)

It's been a long time since we went to adventureland but if I remember right, they didn't have anything too big. This has been our experience:
Went to DisneyWorld in December - kept his pump on or carried it on for everything except the Rockin' Rollar Coaster - I think it has magnets or something like that so I didn't want it on the ride at all. For rides that drop or spin a lot, I would leave the pump on, just disconnect right before the ride (just in case). I am a worrier!!
At Cedar Point - there was just too many large rollercoasters with big drops that we put his pump in a locker and took a insulin pen around with us....just in case. We also run 0 basal from 10-5 so it made it a little easier for me to just go without his pump for a while.
Minimed says to be cautious of large drops, magnets, and spinning rides.
If in doubt, I didn't take it on the ride. At Disney, we used the babyswap and took turns holding his pump - so the ds rode once with DH and then got to ride again, with me.
Oh and I am sure you have thought of this but I made my ds wear a small fannypack with backup meter, strips, glucose tabs in it just in case he rode a ride without me (the pack mule ) and the ride would get stuck or something.
Good Luck! I know you will have fun!

My son pumps with Animas and there is a small discussion about amusement parks in the owner's manual. My son disconnects for rollercoasters and does not take the pump near the large magnetic rides. You might want to call your pump manufacturer and ask them what they suggest. My children are rollercoaster maniacs. We will be doing Cedar Point in July.

When we went to Disney last year Ryan went on all the rides and never disconnected for anything. Pump is still working, no problems. Hope you have fun:D

Wow, I didn't think of that at all! My daughter just went to an amusement park yesterday and it never even crossed my mind to take it off. I should have had her wear a pump pack.
We just went to a small amusement park with no problem - roller coasters, spinny things, and all!
HAVE FUN!

Thanks guys :) This is our first family vacation and then on the way home we are dropping Hailey off at camp  The girls are excited and I am so nervous I could puke :o I remembered reading about pumps and rollercoasters so I figured I better ask the experts :)

We did Adventure Land last year, went on the rides that she was allowed with height limits, and she was fine with the pump on. We did take the D bag on all rides with us, in case it got stuck or stranded. MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS ZIPPED UP! NO FLAPS WITH STUFF IN IT!!!
We did take it off for two water rides...
HAVE FUN! Give me a ring and let me know how dropping off at D camp goes. I'll be thinking about you! I'll write Hailey a letter (Shhhh, don't tell).

last year we were at a little amusement park.. going on a ride called the scrambler, it spins in cirlces basically.. DH decided to disconnect (I never thought of it) and while we were spinning he could SEE the insulin being forced out the end of the tubing, at the site connection.. we now disconnect for ANYTHING that spins like that.. she's to little for the big rides, like rollercoasters, but anything that spins fast, or has big drops I'd disconnect for..
have fun!:)
