Hello to everyone my name is Magdalena from San Antonio, Texas. I have been reading the postings from the parents here and even that my kids are not diabetic I understand very well your pain to see your child in this situation and I'll pray that everything goes well for all of your kids.
I have a 12 year old nephew that was born with down syndrome and also has diabetes 1; He lives in Mexico just about 2 hours away from me. His situation is a very delicate and frustrating and is not because he is a down syndrome or diabetic, but because even thought his family tries to keep up with his diabetic supplies needed (**test strips**) many times they cannot afford to buy at full price; since they are living in mexico there is no medicaid or insurance that covers to help out. This is why I'm posting I know that somewhere will be a light for my nephew and he will see a better tomorrow , but we ask for your help please if you or someone you know has any ***TEST STRIPS*** that no longer need please let me know , 1 box will make a difference for this family; If you cannot give away free for any reason I can offer to pay a fee. Do not throw away or let them get expired we need them so bad! I have found them in thrifty stores/ flea markets but expired is no good and it makes me feel so sad. Please help , any ideas or comments ....God bless you all!!
