My DD is 12 and just entered puberty this past april, her insulin needs increased at lease double the week of ....you know...then went back to normal the rest of the month. However she has not had another ...you know....since april. My older daughter didnt have this happen, when she had her first ...you know...it was fairly the same time every month there after, but Deanna..well she just kinda stalled...is this normal? should I be concerned?

well my non-d daughter, this was her pattern for the first 18 months or so..very irregular. Turned out fine though. :)
I think it is pretty normal ~ for my you know, it was like every 3 months for the first year. My oldest - her you know, is every month like clock work. I think each girls development is different.
Have you considered having a you know basal setting to makes that, you know time easier to work with?
:D

For the past year, Tori's insulin has gone up alot. Lantus is up to 23 units a day. Last year at this time it was I think 14 units. She has grown alot but has not started --youknow-- yet, but thinking it could be any time now. She has evened off her growing some. We had huge growth spurts from sept. to now. every couple of months. Notice most every 3 when we went to endo appt. She kept growing and gaining weight every appt.:)

Im reading all your responses and im cracking up!!! :D thank you for the info. an ohh my DD also has been gaining weight and height at every Endo apt. the Endo has been on my case about it too, saying that Deanna needs to stop gaining weight..My DD is in no way overweight, shes not a feather weight but she is not overweight, she is very tall for a 12 yr old tho..I gues i'll just waite and see what her.... you know....will do on it's own:p

Well my~you know ~ has always been irregular, and it my blood sugars run wild some months and others I dont notice much of a change. I know that my eating did not really change at all this month, but for the last week or so my numbers have been crazy, kept using more insulin. I did not even think about it, the ~ you know~ came this morning and then it hit me,LOL

Allison is also 12 and has been having monthly cycles since September. She is fairly regular. Her insulin needs drop drastically the week before her "time". It is interesting how it is so different for everyone.
