So, I'm about estatic out of my mind right now. :D On Saturday, I'm going over to my aunt Robyn's house (Zeb'sMom), and she's going to supervise/train me in Zeb's D care. :D This is just great because all I've ever wanted to do since dx is be of some sort of USE...I've had the knowlege of how to bolus with his pump and testing and what-not forever, reading informative books and posts here...but next to no experience, I've only tested myself and I've bolused Zeb twice (with somone looking over my shoulder, of course).

So yeah, I'm pretty pumped. :D Any advice from the experts?

You rock! I wish my DD had you as a cuz.

As for your question I would keep my eyes and ears open, you will learn every step of the way. First from your aunt, and then even more from working with your cuz..

With your excellent interest, this could translate into something that influences what you do in your career. Good luck!

Haha, thanks for the well wishes! Actually, although I'm still pretty wishy-washy about my plans after high school, one of my top interests is working to become a CDE. =D It's complicated to get to that point, you have to go through some nursing and extended education and such, but I'd be willing to rough that path for the end result. ^_^

It's natural to be wishy-washy at this point - it's a big world with many possibilities. My one piece of advice (from someone who is very happy with his work) is to always follow your interests in your studies and plans.

It's not about finding the work that pays the most, it's about finding the work that you will love to do because you are so interested in it that you'd do it even if you weren't being paid for it..

I have no doubt you can master the learning needed to go the CDE route. :)

Good on you for helping your cousin. You'll learn a lot as you go along. I wish my son had a cousin like you. Unfortunately he's one of the eldest, so that's not likely.
As for career, I changed my mind a lot in high school. And I've just recently changed my mind again (I'm in my mid 30s now)!!! As long as you enjoy what you do.

Ahhh I'm here I'm here I'm here!

Bolused once for an 8 carb snack, .30 units of insulin.

Haven't tested yet.

I'm feeling a little better now, I had a sudden spike of nerves last night and was kind of FREAKING OUT. XD But I'm a little more confident now that I've started. I know I can do this. ^_^
