Hi I'm Carrie and I am a proud mommy to three kids. My oldest, Cody was diagnosed with type 1 on Friday. We live on Fort Belvoir, Va. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and picking everyone's brain.

Hi Carrie - Welcome to the forums. I am sorry to hear about your sons diagnosis. I think you find this site very informative and the participants extremely helpful.
(I am down 95 in Richmond and attended Hayfield HS for a couple of years way back when.)

Welcome. So sorry to hear about the diagnosis but this is a great place to find, especially this early. It will be overwhelming but we'll help get you through!
There are at least two other members here from Ft. Belvoir. One is "momofphoenix" and the other just moved there from San Diego - she's in temporary housing now looking for a place. If you search for Belvoir, I'm sure her post will come up
Oh yeah, I'm up 95 and over near Dulles Airport from you! (since everyone is talking about how close they are to you!) :)

Welcome to the "CWD Family"! We might not all agree at once, but we are all here for the same reason, to seek help, comfort and friendships with others who experience the same things we do.. You will find at times, that this is your rock on helping you deal.
Sorry you had to find us here, but know there are some really wonderful helpfil people here!

Welcome Carrie!
This is a wonderful place to find 'people in your shoes'.
I usually spend alot of time in the parents chatroom. That is a good place if you have a immediate question. Hang in there!
