I have posted about my upcoming tournament on another board...but just found this one about fundraising so I thought that I would mention what i am doing to get ideas from everyone else and maybe inspire someone else to have a tournament. SO here is what I am doing.......
I am very excited to announce my very first big organized event to benefit diabetes. Our family team, the Loganators do a few small things every year like a garage sale and bake sale but this year I have stepped it up a notch by creating "Batting for a Cure."
It is a co-ed softball tournament in my city. I am very nervous as to whether I can pull it off or not. I have already secured a company that will pay my field fees and have begun asking for local celebrity umpires to make it fun! I created my website which is BattingForACure.com and started passing out flyers and sending press releases. We are also selling the entertainment books and raffling off prices at the tournament. They city major is schedule to throw out the first pitch! I was wondering if you all would take a minute and visit the website and let me know what you think. BattingForACure.com. Any tips or ideas of how to make it the most succesful would be greatly appreciated. Also.....how to get teams to sign up!
So....I was wondering.......if anyone would be interested in having a tournament in their city. We could join and help each other out. I would add different tournaments to the website and maybe one day make this a HUGE yearly fundraiser at many different locations across the US.
I just know that a cure is right around the corner and want to make a difference! I just hope and pray that this event is a big hit and all my hard work pays off!!!! Sometimes it is good to know that one little person can make a difference!!!!!!!!
Any thoughts or ideas would be great!!
Thanks,
Karen
