Michigan BCBS (MI CHILD) first denial

I finally got a denial from BCBS after my second attempt for reimbursement. (I didn't know I had to use a special form) I almost missed it as I expected to see a letter stating the denial. Instead I caught it on my explanation of benefits. Reason: Not prescribed by doctor...:confused: That was easily remedied...I faxed them a copy of the prescription.

Do you think it will be that easy or do you think there will be a new reason next? I did notice they had the billing code on there (these are 2007 receipts) so I know they know what it is.

Have you started the process with Children's Special Health Care Services? I'm wondering what they will say???

I haven't gotten another denial yet. I just faxed the script on Thursday :)

I have tried talking to Children's but no one seems to be able to point me in any direction. I am going to start contacting state representatives and such when I get some time.

Good Luck - there are several of us who have had it approved through various BCBS. Ours was finally approved after the 2nd level appeal on an individual basis!
