D kids can be such like little scientists themselves!
I took my son fishing and he caught a nice size flounder. We brought it home for DH to fillet. During the fillet process, some blood from the flounder seeped out on to the cutting board. My son, seeing the blood, grabs his glucose meter, jams a strip in it, and heads for the fish.
I asked him what he was doing...
"I want to know what a flounder's blood sugar is!"
I almost stopped him from doing it, then thought, 'What's the harm?'
In case you would like to know, a flounder who's been filleted has a blood glucose of 160 mg/dcl.
We had a good laugh over it. Sometimes you have to do crazy things like that to keep living with D from taking your smiles away.
