Hello! I have already spent lots of time (maybe too much) reading all the posts and I cannot tell you all how helpful this site has been! My son Aaron was dx in April of this year and thankfully he has taken this whole thing in such good stride. Absolutely no one in my or my husbands family has ever has Diabetes, so it wasn't even on our radar when Aaron having all the classic symptoms for about three months. When I rushed him to the pediatrician because I knew that something was wrong but didn't know what, he took some blood tests and called frantically soon after for us to rush him to the hospital His bs was over 1000!!! Thankfully everything was ok (after spending 2 days in the ped icu). So my family is just like all of yours, just doing our best to keep our kids healthy.
Well just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. :D

Welcome. I mostly read here too and post every once in a while. Sounds like you have a great attitude as well as your son, that helps but don't be surprised with any set backs you or he might have. Sorry you had to join the club.

Hello! I have been Type 1 diabetic for 62 years and I am very healthy. I was diagnosed when I was 6 in 1945. I am sure you are a wonderful caretaker for Aaron just like my Mom was for me. With your care Aaron may have a good chance at a long, healthy life without serious complications. Good luck to both of you!
