Saved by the Bell
Did saved by the bell come out in the 80's or early 90's?
Not sure when this one come out either, but I liked Puinky Brewster.. I use to dress just like her when I was little, I tried to be here.. Even tried to make my bed do the things hers did..

K, since some arent old enough to remember the shows of the 70s, lets do the 80s too.
Thanks for reminding of how old some of us are because you can't participate in the 70's thread.:p
I hated most of the shows on the 80's. I spent most of my time watching MTV, and movies like "Back to the Future." I guess I did like Michael J. Fox in that TV show he did (I can't remember the name).
ETA: Now I remember, "Family Ties," and the ONLY reason I watched it was because of MJF.

after a childhood of no TV watching in the 70's there wasn't a tv show on that I didn't watch in the 80's LOL. I can't even remember all my favorites but MASH was one. Cheers. Thirty Something. (that was late 80's) Remington Steele, Bosom Buddies (OMG funniest ever) Dukes of Hazzard (yes, I will admit it) , Facts of Life, St. Elsewhere, Mork and Mindy and Miami Vice.

How about Saturday morning cartoons? I loved Tom and Jerry! (And of course Saved by the bell and California Dreamin' - but I think those were early 90's.)
We never missed Charles in Charge, either....

The Halloween episode of Charles in Charge when the younger boy dressed up like Charles was one of the best episodes of any TV show ever.
Perfect Strangers
St. Elsewhere
Fame (somewhere around here I have a soundtrack cassette from the 1st season)
How Lori Singer didn't become a megastar, I'll never know. One of my favorites songs:
It's Gonna Be A Long Night
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The moon's up
And the sun's down
And a thousand starry eyes have caught me crying.
You don't die of a broken heart
You just lie down and give up trying.
And it's gonna be a long night all night
It's such a long hard fight
Keeping the teardrops out of sight
Waiting for morning light
It's gonna be a long night
It's all gone
But the memories come back to me in scattered pieces
Your eyes shine
Your smile glows
And my loneliness for you increases
And it's gonna be a long night all night
It's such a long hard fight
Keeping the teardrops out of sight
Waiting for morning light
It's gonna be a long night
The moon's up
And the sun's down
And a thousand starry eyes have caught me crying.
You don't die of a broken heart
You just lie down and give up trying.
And it's gonna be a long night all night
It's such a long hard fight
Keeping the teardrops out of sight
Waiting for morning light
It's gonna be a long night
It's gonna be a long night

I was in High School in the 80's and all I can remember watching was MTV:D
me too. Remember when you used to sit by the tv and your parents would yell "SHUT IT OFF" and you'd beg "just let me see what the next video is"
For you younger folks who don't remember, this is when MTV only played videos. That's it. Nothing else. it was like radio on tv, with video after video. And MTV was so conservative they wouldn't' play rap. LOL. But they played Michael Jackson. LOL. It was so very tame...haha.

Shows I couldn't stand:
My grandmother would make me watch the Golden Girls:eek:
They were showing re-runs of the Golden Girls on daytime tv the other day and I was bored so I watched a bit of it. I swear I sat there opened mouthed. That is seriously the dumbest, lamest, stupidest, unfunniest show I have ever seen in my life. No kidding.

For us we would jump around but it was usually one of these:
Cosby Show
Dukes of Hazard
Growing Pains
MacGyver
Wonder Years
AirWolf
Doggie Howser
OK - I had to come back and add: Startrek - The Next Generation - it was late 80's - we weren't really trek fans until this show.

yeah like Footloose?? ROFL.....
I want to know how she went from the totally nerdy kid in square pegs, to the totally nerdy kid in footloose to the uber cool Carrie Bradshaw???
For Alice - that was the name of the Show. Alice. It was from the movie "Alice doesn't' live here anymore" and then Flo got her own spinoff "flo" (geez they were original huh?)
twodoor2
06-17-2008, 01:50 PM
Again, I'm really glad that I was able to watch 70's television, because the 80's was a horrible dryspell of good and intelligent shows. Was Cheers on in the 80's., because I think that and Hill Street Blues were about the only things I could tolerate back then. I mean if a show with an ugly muppet as the main character ("Alf") could be a hit??!! Can you imagine if that came on today, it would be axed immediately and the writers and producers would be exiled to a deserted island.
What a wasteland the 80's was. Sorry all you 80's fans.
But . . . I LOVED 80's music!!
