Hey everybodies
I am Jess and on several other sites I am hypo_pony
I'm 16 years old and have only been a diabetic for 3 and 1/2 months. I am Type 1.5 (why is that not an option in the 'what type you are' thing in your profile??? ) MODY 3 is my exact genetic strain. I am taking NPH novolin with a combination of Sulf pills. Basicly my title is Tablets, with acess to insulin, a pony and a camara..... The name of my blog the link is in my profile.
Pirior to becoming a dabetic HOWEVER I was Dxed as Reactive Hypoglycemic May 1st 2007 with an A1c of 3.0 reactive hypoglycemia is where the pancreas over stimulates createing to much insulin. Not a fun cup of tea but you get so used to it after awhile. Well now I'm Diabetic and before if any of you heard the words NPH novolin and went 'that is the worst insulin ever' It's what I like because it worked the way I was used to before I became diabetic.
I'm only young but I do know a lot
I own a pony in real life and I'm real smart (I knwo because everyone tells me on DD )
I'm trying my very best to be a good girl my last A1c was 5.8% and I am very proud of that
I am also working on a project called "Jess's Candy for a cure" which I hope to turn into a very good Sugar free candy business to help rais money. I live in Nova Scotia Canada
I think thats all
Love yall,
Jess

oh i hate it because nobody (mostly nobody) has ever heard of MODY and then trying to explain it and how it is diffenent than type 1 or type 2, it's just SO annoying...you explain it and then most times they STILL don't get it!

Kier it's the dreaded "Can you explain what MODY is"
Instead I'm going to give a link because other wise it's not going to make any sense....
http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/clinic/mody.htm
Actually I'm thinking of printing that off and than whenevr someone asked handing it to them :)

yeah i know what you mean. i don't understand it all that much myself and i have it! i think it's when you eat your body doesn;t produce enough insulin. like me? my bg's are fine until i eat and then i'm usually high, but aftre i eat my sugars come down usually within a few hours. and it's very genetic, passed on to every generation, atleast that's what i've read. and people with MODY are generally thin, normal weight. and i've also read that it's a genetic defect? and that its monogeic, basically that you have say one "defective" gene that causes MODY...thats all i can do for now...hope it helps!!!!

no diet and exercise won't make it go away and it's not curable just as type 1 or type 2 is not curable. i still check my bg's 6 times a day and i take insulin as well as type 2 pills...i will have diabetes until they find a cure....just as you will.

Hun I was joking! HOLY me mean 0_o I'm sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry if I came off as mean one little bit! I was joking with Keir no meaness intended!
It is like T-1 and T-2 merged into one with sensitivity to insulin so 1/2 united of novorapid for 36 carbs if I'm not on my Sulf based pills.
Again sorry if I sounded mean!!!!!!
