No late night/early morning checks, no carb counting, no injections. What will I do with myself? Kylee left this morning for Colorado with my Mom to go see my Grandma. My Mom knows how to take care of Kylee, she was there for everything when Kylee was diagnosed, heard all the same stuff we did and has taken care of Kylee for a few days before, so Im not too worried. Just the same though, Kylee is taking antibiotics for her bronchitis and her blood sugar has been all over the place lately. They are supposed to call me at night and tell me how she has been through the day so I can make adjustments if needed. When my Mom came to pick Kylee up I handed her a grocery bag full of snacks, juices and other stuff and she looked a little shocked and said I didnt need to pack her meals. I told her I didnt, that was just the stuff for the car ride and things I knew she would need while she was there. She probably thinks Im nuts now, but its a 10-11 hour trip and a lot of it is in rural areas where they wouldnt be able to stop and grab something if she needed it so I wanted to be safe. Kylee was a little nervous since this is the first trip she has taken since she was diagnosed, but I think it will be good for her to see that she can manage her diabetes without me(with help from Nana of course).
