I know that a lot of people here just read the parents forum but I wanted to point out something I just stumbled on (yes I am a bit dense if everyone already knows this :o ) Did you know you can read all recent posts in every forum if you click on "New Posts" in the blue bar towards the top of the page? I had no clue and have been on here more than a year :o Just wanted to point it out to anyone else that hasn't noticed this. I know a few posts end up in other forums that I don't frequently read so now I can read them all and respond to the ones that I might know something about that I normally would not have seen

That's the only way I view the forums!! I have a link to the new posts section on my favorites column, and all I have to do is hit the link on favorites and it takes me to all new posts. Great feature!!

Knew it...don't use it. Creature of habit.

I wondered why people state they posted in the wrong list -- as long as the post is new, I can see it. I usually skip the ones for kids and teens.
I always look for the new posts -- it saves a lot of time.

No, no, no, that's not the way I do it. There is a particular problem with doing it that way: You see all the new posts but do not see all the new threads unless someone has already made the first post on that thread. Therefore if you do it that way you will NEVER be the first person to respond to a thread. You only see the brand new posts too. If there's nothing new since the last time you updated you won't see that thread at all.
The way I do it is to click on Quick Links and then Today's Posts. This will show all the posts AND new threads in order from newest back. To get an update I just do it again. I can also use reload in Firefox but it doesn't necessarily come up in exact order then.

I always use new posts. It brings anything up that has changed since the last time you visited. I frequent quite a few forums and that is the only way that I read. :)
If someone has started a new topic but no one has responded you WILL see it (I wasn't sure if that's what a poster above was saying). If it hasn't changed since the last time you clicked the topic, it will still show up in the search.

I have to agree...I have only ever used "New Posts" and I am regularly the first poster to a topic.

Not necessarily. I always use the New Posts and have seen several new threads today and posted on one (and I was the first repsonse).

You mean I'm WRONG??
How can this be? This is a very new experience for me. Let me let it sink in.;)
By golly, you're right; I am wrong. OK, here's what IS different: If I read a post but decide not to respond at that time and then I click on New Posts it will not show up until someone else posts on that thread. With my poor memory I will forget about it until someone else posts.
I hope I'm not wrong again. Twice in a day would be more than I can take.:p
