My neighborhood pool is currently operating without a president or vp, which means the rest of us board members are filling a lot of gaps. I just have to say that dealing with some of these people, and the "Complaints Division" of some of the members, and all the petty behaviors I am running into every single day...well it makes diabetes care seem SO FLIPPIN' EASY!!!
I guess this is one of my pet peeves - adults behaving badly. And another - over thinking every tiny little item. Wake up people! There's way more important things to worry about!
I now return you to your regularly scheduled program. I feel better. Thank you. I will probaby still go off on the blue-haired lady who went off on my kid yesterday. And that will feel EVEN BETTER!

HAHAAHAH...glad you feel better. I agree though. I have issues with the PTO people at school. It's like their entire life is wrapped up in PTO. I want to yell at them...people...it's PTO for cripes sake.

That's the way I feel about here though - my entire life wrapped up :o And I mean that in a good way - this place must be my PTA or Pool Assoc- by the way -I think it is great that you have a neighborhood pool!

I love my pool! It's walking distance, both my kids learned to swim there, both were/are on the swim team, Tom works there...
But like many neighborhood pools, we're in atough financial spot. My goal is to keep it open till Tom graduates and if I have to be on the board (which I have been since my hair still had it's own color) then so be it. But OMG I just want to throttle some of this lot!
BTDT with PTA stuff...all I do with them now is buy the student directory!

I know what you mean about the PTa - I tried, I really, really ,really tried hard! But - I could only bite my tongue so much and it was really tough being the only working mom in the group - as well as the only single mom - so I stopped. I will support them till the cows come home - or in case of their newest fund raiser- till the cows poop in your square...
yes- poop in your your square.
Buy a ticket for $10 and if the cows first poop lands in your square - you win $1000.00. Gee - I am so proud of our PTA!

I can't believe how some 'adults' act so childish.. not sure if you ever read my rants before about my co-worker.. she's at it again.. and stupid stuff.. she left me a note saying that I needed to leave *HER* colors (we cake decorate) alone, and NOT to change them.. when in reality (which she doesn't live in LOL) I made the colors in the first place, and then she changed them.. but thats not the point.. we BOTH have to work there, get the hell over yourself and jsut decorate ... I think she thinks they won't get rid of her because sales grew 30% a few months after she started working BUT they failed to tell her that it was also the same time of year that is completely dead going into the busy season.. sales ALWAYS grow 30% at that time of year:rolleyes: anyone.. i had to threaten to quit again, and as soon as graduation season is over, I'm not doing cakes anymore..
sorry I stole your vent.. but hearing about adults acting like children just makes me think of this childish 'woman'..
what did the blue haired lady yell at your child for??

OK, now I have heard it all for fund raisers!!
I have the same issues with the PTO here (not sure why it's a PTO and not a PTA, but whatever....) They all want to be so far up the teacher's butts it's not even funny! I can't "play that game". And quite frankly, I think I have a better relationship with the teachers because of that! ;)

I may have to rejoin the PTA just to suggest "Poop in Your Square" Day.
Tom got yelled at because the manager and ass't manager, the only ones on duty, were cleaning the pool (after the storms and the 10 hours without the pump) and failed to call an adult swim time as scheduled (the kids have to leave the pool so the blue hairs don't get splashed...in the pool...)
Tom WASN'T EVEN THERE when this happened...they called him in because they were short-staffed.
About an hour ago I took this particular Blue Hair straight to the manager and introduced them.
Witch on wheels she is.
