You know I am a fan! Not debt free either, but boy would I like to be! :)

I also love listening online (www.daveramsey.com) It keeps me inspired to do good with my money...what little there is :)

We're HUGE Dave fans at our house. I listen to the podcast everyday when I'm on my treadmill.

We went through FPU about 5 years ago and have been debt-free for about 2years. We went to his live event in SLC this past spring. It was fantastic. I highly recommend if you can go, you absolutely should.

About 2 years into our program, I had our kids at the dentist. When we were leaving our oldest asked if we could go to McDonald's for lunch. Before I had a chance to answer, from the back of my van I hear our son yelling, "NO WAY! We're living like no one else, so later we can live like no one else." Of course, our daughter just rolled her eyes, and I just kept driving. It was very funny!

Dave has taken hold in our house, for sure.

I love to watch his show on Fox News Channel. We don't specifically follow Dave Ramsey but there are things I want to do that my husband just scoffs at - he still thinks that getting "cheap money" is better than not having the debt. We are paying off our refrigerator purchase (0% interest for one year) this month and I want to take the $250 that we have been paying a month towards that and put it towards paying off the car (3 years left). He said "but that's cheap money". It makes me want to smack him

I am a fan of his cousin, Marshall Ramsey... he's the editorial cartoonist for our local newspaper. Dave wrote several books for children about saving money, and Marshall did the illustrations.

I love Suze Orman, but I have to say I've never listened to Dave.

I haven't ever listened to Dave Ramsey, but I do know what it feels like to be IN debt and then Debt free and debt free is waaaay better. The older I get the less I like bills, so we only have the mortage, one car and a small credit card which was from this recent remodel and will be paid off shortly. after that we hardly ever use our credit card and when we do, it's paid that month. I just can't stand having it hanging over my head. I know it's so hard when you live paycheck to paycheck but there is always found money somewhere - if that means that the kids don't get the noggin channel then that's it. If it means that we didn't' have cable at all other than just basic, that's it. It didn't kill us. at all. There are always ways to be frugal and frugal is different than cheap. :)

It's very hard in the beginning to get everyone on board. The kids still don't see the point, and my dh was reluctant to give up some of the intinal things. But now, with the uncertain economy and rising medical cost, he's very happy that I "made" him do it.

I'm happy my dh doesn't feel the need for a new car. He's happy driving his 1987 Toyota truck. We bought it from one of our customers for $1500. (We own an auto repair shop) I suggested we get him a newer one, and he said, "no, this one's easy to repair"

We haven't had any CC debt for about 6 years. Our biggest things to payoff were Sallie Mae(kick the old gal to the curb...;) ) and a loan for our Suburban. It is a great feeling to be able to pay cash and not worry about how we're going to make ends meet.

Stay strong, you'll get there. If I can do, anyone can!

We love Dave!:)
Some friend turned us on to him years ago, and we becames debt-free (except the house). I was SO thankful for that when our youngest was dx'd with D. It was stressful enough figuring out how all the hospital bills and D supplies were going to get paid.
