Ok, so my girls LOVE AG dolls. Got some for Christmas and B'day. The other day they received gift certificates from them. Can I say how annoyed I am? They come in this HUGE envelope, inside a folder, with a catalog. Now, I know they need the catalog to order the items, but the folder?

I guess my pet peeve is this. Everything you purchase from AG comes in a box. Yes, you can recycle, but can a company be more un-enviormentally friendly???? After the girls b'day party the other day we had 20 count 'em 20 of those boxes! Eeek!

And people wonder why prices are going up? The size of the trailer and the amount of gas needed to pull it, to get AG stuff around the country!

Ok, I will now get off my soapbox now:eek:

I personally think they're overpriced pieces of smelly plastic made in China by slave workers. Sorry, but I detest the American Girl dolls, always have, and I refuse to buy my daughter one. She doesn't like dolls anyways.

Sarah always liked them more for the stories rather than the dolls, I think she had every book for every doll, but she did have one doll and quite a few accessories, and I think the packaging was bad even then. I think all that extra packaging somehow makes the junk inside seem more high end.

Wendy please stay on your soapbox until you've made that company turn green.:D Should we start writing letters? While we're at it, at least one parent who posts on the forum has had a heck of a time figuring out the carbs at the AG restaurants. So let's get them to provide nutritional info too.

My girl doesn't even play with Barbies. :)

I agree with Ellen: stay on that soapbox.

The youngerst girl in my family is 15, we haven't bought anything from them in about 6 years and we JUST stopped getting the catalogs. Don't worry...there is still hope that you'll be off one day. ;)

I avoid purchasing any kind of metal jewelry made for kids. It seems that they all end up getting recalled!

I'm afraid of those American Girl dolls. To me they look a lot like Talky Tina from the Twilight Zone episode "Living Doll".
"I'm Talky Tina and you'd better be nice to me!"
