Venetian layers. Colored layers topped with chocolate. I can get Beth's recipe for you, but it can't be hard to google. Very kid friendly!

Wow Scott- those look complex and time consuming! Geez...maybe I will try them though - my 12 yr old wasn't impressed when I said - what about a big container of cherry tomatoes?

Ladyfingers, cut in half, laid out in a row. Cover them with vanilla frosting.

Tell the kids that they are Venetian Blinds. :D

I'm no help.

Of course, you could just go to the store and buy a box! Any Italian bakery...

I'm in Maine - where the heck will I find an Italian Bakery :D

OK - so - after getting home at 8:30 from Softball, I made 50 Venitian Hazelnut Chocolate Sandwiches (my own creation) which is sugar cookie spread with Nutella and topped with hazelnuts, and then a crispy cookie on top - sounds venitian...

Then, for the French dessert - I made 40 coconut macaroons drizzled with white and milk chocolate - Please - no one tell me those aren't french!

Few - 11pm and I am done just in time to test

I actually spit my soda out laughing at this one!! :D

Sorry Lee, I have no advice but I'd get something at the store since it's so late!

I wanted to - but we are so small town that all the stores close at 9 and then the only one that is close enough is so rinky dinky that there is nothing French or Venetian there!!!!

Venetian layers are a bit time consuming and moderately labor intensive. I've seen em at grocery stores. They just call em party cookies. They're red(pink) yellow & green ckelike cookies with chocolate on top. Stores tend to have chocolate sprinkles on em as well.
