I have been miserable with allergies for days. I can't locate my preferred OTC med, Drixoral, either here or in Newport News. Finally found out they discontinued it (Sudafed issues). I don't want the sudafed, I want this particular antihistamine! Took my last one on Friday. This has been a wicked spring for me.
I just found the last known 5 (4 now) Drixoral in the civilized world squirreled away in a travel bag!!!! I will wake up rested, without my nose-blowing red mustache, and I might be able to nurse these 4 pills through the end of my allergies (till fall and I'll worry about that later!)
Who knew a little green pill could mean so much?

Becky, I have been miserable with allergies myself! I don't normally have any issues, but this year has been awful! For some reason the mornings are worst for me -- I swear sometimes my ears and head feel so full that I feel like I'm drunk and going to fall over! And since it's morning, I know that's not possible! ;)

My allergies have been blessedly mild the last several years...like 10 days I need a pill in 3 months. (They start with the maple pollen in late Feb and are usually done by Memorial Day.) This year they started late and have been at full bore from the git go with no real end in site.
My last hope was the Walgreen's in NN where I got some on May 9 but I called there yesterday and was told they'd pulled all their stock (Jenn was down there and I was begging her to stop for some).
I'll spend tomorrow searching for suitable replacements. All the hot OTCs don't TOUCH my symptoms.

my allergies have been really bad this year... the past several years they haven't been so bad, but this year, man, they are horrible.. I haven't found anything that works, and my asthma, that hasn't really bothered me much in a while, is really bothering me this season too!

Must be Global Warming judging by these far flung sufferers.
Al Gore? Paging Al Gore?
Ugh...feeling somewhat better this morning but still honking my nose off. And my whole scalp is itching! If 1/2 of a child's dose of Benadryl didn't put me to sleep for a week I'd be all over that.
Feel better you guys!

I'm a huge allergy sufferer, but it's been so much better since I
a. use the Nasonex nose spray (prescription) ** key for me **
b. do the allergy shots one in each arm once a week
c. take Zyrtec as needed much not really needed (have switched to the generic found at Costco so much cheaper) -years ago I liked Chlortrimaton OTC if that's even still around.
I know it's another doctor appointment, but the prescription nasal sprays really do a great job.
Sorry you're suffering. I've suffered allergies for 25 years. They make you miserable.

I remember Chlortrimetron (I think it's still around at least as an ingredient in combo drugs)...that was the OTC of choice in my house growing up. Yes, I have been allergy ridden since birth. Just like my dad who is in your camp - he's a big fan of allergy shots. I fear it may be coming to that for me sooner than later. May be time to take care of myself a little. Baby steps...I had my first haircut in 17 months last night!

Are you going to post a picture of your new "do"? :)
I was pleasantly surprised to find my allergy shots covered 100%!!!!!! We pay out the wazoo for insurance each month so I get the shots as consistently as I can!!!!!! ;)

LOL It's the same old "do" she just cut the dead dry end off...to the tune of about 4 - 6 inches. I had a brain fart one night last January and decided to risk a different stylist. I'm just now getting back to a "normal" version of my hair!
