Anyone a big fan? I loved the series, not so sure how I feel about the movie. Kind of lacked something. Any thoughts?

I hope to be going this weekend with my mom and sil. Truth be told, I think my father wants to go too LOL.
I loved the series, just absolutely loved it. I was prepared to not like it at all, but it was just so wonderful and so over the top and despite it all you still loved the characters. I mean, the last episode when Big came back and all was right, it was like the fairy tale that it was meant to be!
can't wait to see the movie.

I didn't even catch it, I knew it was Sex...something...City!
No, didn't see it but did go to see Indiana Jones. Can't wait to buy it on DVD! Haley liked it, Cj thought it was "gay", but to him everything is "gay".

Going tomorrow night with some girlfriends. Of course, going for Cozmo's first :). Can't wait to see the fashions. Sometimes wish I lived and alternate life so I could get away with wearing some of the stuff (alternate, not different! :o )

I do not get to go out to movies (no evening or weekend babysitters -where's the world's smallest violin?); therefore, I either get them on pay per view or read about the plot on the website, themoviespoiler.com. Since I was dying to know what happened in SATC, I went to the movie spoiler website and read about it. I think SATC fans will enjoy it. That's my pathetic review.

Sharon loved the TV series so much that I ended up buying her a complete DVD set of every episode and she can't wait to see the movie. Believe it or not but I'm the one that got her started watching the show. I was channel surfing one night and came across a scene that made my jaw hit the floor and burst out laughing. I wasn't used to seeing that on regular TV so I called Sharon who was in another room and said "you're not going to believe this show" so she came in and watched and got hooked.

I went yesterday with a group of girlfriends. We ordered our tickets ahead of time through Fandango - sold out! We also arrived 45 minutes before the show and stood in line outside the theater. My friend, Kelly, ran to get the best seats. I loved the movie! We laughed until we cried and also cried from being sad. I thought the summary at the end of the movie was perfect. Fun!

Not me but maybe the next Harry Potter or if another sequel to the Matrix or V for Vendetta was possible.

What is it about men and the Matrix? Mark has seen it at least 450 million times. Mind you, I love Keanu Reeves, but I can only watch the same thing so many times!! I liked the first one, the second and third were stupid.
SATC was a great show. I was kind of unhappy it was only a half hour though, and the fashions were outrageous if not unrealistic (they never wore the same outfit more than once).
I heard there's going to be a Soprano's movie. I would die to see that!! The series ending was such a letdown.
You know Marsha - thank you for the spoiler post - I liked SATC - but I don't know if I could sit through the entire movie watching 4 spoiled women whine all the time...I wanted to see it - just becuase I am supposed to like it cause I'm a girl, but I just can't get into it - and reading the spoiler - yep, I am glad I turned down my friends who were going last weekend...
Please don't hate me :(

I dunno really, maybe it's the sci-fi drama, ridiculous kung-fu scenes or maybe (just maybe) it's the hot looking women. Carrie Anne Moss looked good in the first one but looked like she aged 20 years in the last 2 though she did look good riding that Ducati motorcylce and last but definitely not least the Merovingians wife. Holy smokes she stops me and our 2 teens dead in our tracks every time.

You're welcome! I love that site. I am one of those people that cannot stand suspense, or having to wait for the plot to happen. I want to know everything NOW. That site really helps.

(my husband babysat so this worked out PERFECTLY for me, he called it a chick flick lol)
Definately go see it if you are a fan...you will love it too!

I took myself to see the matinee on Monday- I LOVED it. Laughed, cried, got mad- it was great! (BTW- it was the first time I ever went to the theater by myself. I think I'll do it again, a very relaxing thing to do for myself on my days off while DD is in school. When I told him I wanted to go my husband said I need to spoil myself a little more often. He didn't have to tell me twice!)

Now, I am a fan but found myself disappointed in the movie. I won't get into details but I didn't get the "fix". I wanted to see more of that Big/Carrie chemistry. I thought it was lacking.

I also wanted to add my favorite part (well one of em) was when you find out BIG's real name..that was kind of cool!!! I always wondered on the show if they would reveal his real name other than Mr Big and they never did ..til the movie...

Actually, as my husband pointed out, on the last episode they show his name on the cell phone when he calls Carrie. I don't know that we knew his entire name though.

You're right - in the very last episode you find out his first name. (which I can't even remember) but not his last.

YES they did....on the last episode.....it showed up on Carrie's cell phone, he called her and it read "john"........
I saw the movie the last night......I went with a bunch of girls....2 had NEVER even seen ONE episode !! And they still loved it.....
I cried a few times......over all.....I gave it a huge thumbs up.....I'll try not to give too much away.......
I didn't like the way the "big drama" of the movie panned out.....it seemed like it could have been done in a more realistic manner.....was too phony for me......it didn't make sense to me.....but I loved the way the girls handled it....I cried they were so good.....
I LOVED LOVED LOVED what happened to Charlotte that made Carrie laugh.....anyone who saw the movie is LAUGHING right now...I guarantee it !!!
You know what else I noticed.....Carrie did NOT smoke....not even once.....that is a HUGE change from the series......that was a pretty big part of who she was....remember when she tried to quit for Aidan ?
I think they need to do a new movie every few years just so we can stay in touch !!
And I saw the actor who plays Steve on a talk show & he said "Steve & Miranda are a great love story"....I agree....I just love them both.....
Charlotte is still my fave, however......

Oh I am so glad to know that Im not the only one with a teenager that refers to everything and everyone as "gay". It drives me absolutely nuts and Im forever yelling at him about it.
Im really trying to talk DH into taking me to see the movie. We are both off today, but he has to do some work from home and we have company coming this evening so I dont think its going to happen. My mom never watched the series and neither did my one female friend(yes, I only have one true female friend) and I forced DH to watch it :p so he will know what is going on.
