View Full Version : My son keeps waking up soaked through (non-d question).

Well, my son loves to pee all night long. So much so that I tested him this morning to set my mind at ease (82 ). His diapers are nomal throughout the day but he usually wakes up soaked through. Putting a pull up over his regular diaper usually helps but this morning it didn't. He sleeps on his stomach and wriggles all night which is probably the problem (his front will be wet, never his back). Does anyone know of any secret soaker diapers out there or have any tips?

Thanks much!

Have you tried the new diapers by Huggies? Goodnights. They work well for my super soaker 3 year old. Before we bought those we had to put a pull up over a diaper and she would still be wet half of the time :(

Do you cut him off from liquids at a certain time? Wieland stays dry 90% of the time, my only real confidence that D isn't an issue yet. :)

The Goodnites are fantastic. I haven't had the same luck with the sleep shorts as I have with the briefs, however.

Also, there's what we call chux, or disposable underpads. They won't keep him dry, but they are bed savers!

Ok, I am so fried. I meant to say the new huggies Overnights :o Goodnights were leaking for Bella and they did in the past for both Hailey and Mackenzie. The Huggies Overnights are double the "stuff" and have kept her bed dry since we started using them.

(slinking off to hide because goodnights have been around forever)

Hey, I am in hiding right now because I said, "Sex IN the City" instead of "Sex AND the City"...and I am a big fan?!:o

I found the Goodnights brand was the most absorbant. Pull Ups, were a flop.

Then, we did not allow drinks after dinner (unless of course they were running around like crazy), and then we had them pee before getting ready for bed, after and then again when we went to bed. It definitely cut down on the amount produced during the night!

Have the same problem here, found that the overnight diapers didn't help any. My solution for the problem....when I check Tyler in the middle of the night, I also do a diaper change on Lilly. She sleeps through the diaper change just like Tyler sleeps through the bg check.
Lilly is a HUGE drinker - loves her liquids (and food) - I check her bg all the time - thankfully always has a good number.

When my kids were little I don't remember having the night time diapers.
We just gave him a catheter. JK!:D

Babies-r-Us carries diaper doublers. This is what I was using on Simon right before diagnosis. It seemed to work pretty well. Try this in a larger size diaper.

we use cloth diapers, but I don't think most people will go there lol-but I double stuff a fuzzi bunz, he only needs diapers for night. I also heard about the diaper doublers to use for heavy wetters.

Thanks so much for all the tips...he is only 21 months so I can't get him to pee on command quite yet. ;)

I am going to try the Huggies good nights. The funny thing is that I didn't really have this problem with Bethany until undiagnosed D. Thankfully this is not the issue with my boy! He does love his water too...I crinch when he says "Wa wa!" But testing him shows he's fine. I hate having this ability to test at a moment's notice when he is showing perfectly normal behavior. We all worry too much, I guess.
