If it's not one thing it's another right? Hubby, myself and Deanna went to see Indianan Jones last night..about 10 minuted into the movie My cell rings(it was on silent:D) Its my older daughter calling from work (she works at Big Al's super center, it's an aquarium, fresh and salt water fish store) anyway she tells me that she just got stung by a fish and her hand is blowing up..:eek: I tell her to have them call 911 and we will be right there. The fish she got stung by is a yellow belly hippo tang. They have spikes on their dorsal fin that has a mucus on them that works like a poison. three of the spikes went into the base of her thumb while she was bagging it for a costumer. (the costumer was buying $3,000 worth of salt water fish!!) The manager decided to just take her directly to the ER being that it was just down the street. We get to the ER and she is sitting there with her hand looking like a balloon. After what felt like forever they finally took her back. The allergic reaction she had was moderate, it only affected her hand and not her respiration or heart rate, so she only needed some meds to reduce the swelling and an antibiotic to fight off any infection. They told her her hand would hurt for a day or so and to just watch it for infection. The swelling is already gone, its just tender to the touch.
