There is a lot of good progress being made on the clinical application of this technology! In the meantime, we also got approval in April for a patient-focused study in the US of the real-time remote alert feature. The trial is called the Right Now! Diabetes Technology Study. More info is available on our site (http://www.diabetech.net/study.right.now.html) and at clinicaltrials.gov
So bottom line is if families want to help us understand how to best use the GlucoMON and real-time remote monitoring via text message alerts it is finally accessible in this trial.
---Update---
GlucoMON(R)2 is in development with availability planned for 2008. This will make the GlucoMON available worldwide, not just US and it supports Ultra2 initially. This will be a commercially available device pending government clearance according to the laws of each country where it will be sold.
