We have been using the Dreamfield's spaghetti and I was wondering if it is really true that 56 grams is actually 5 carbs? If so, would it still cause a spike later? I have been getting higher numbers with her after using it. My daughter loves spaghetti and is somewhat picky,so we eat it at least weekly. Sorry if this has already been addressed.

We had them last night, we used a carb factor of 0.26 and it worked quiet well, I made a vegetable/ground turkey sauce with it and did not cover for that. She was good, but she had a small 210 spike after 7 hours:rolleyes:

We eat Dreamfields and usually do not have a spike, but do every once in a while (not sure why). But it is much better (for us) than regular pasta. Maybe try using 10 carbs per serving and seeing if that keeps the numbers down?

Yes, thanks. I thought about that. Five carbs per serving almost sounds too good to be true.

I've seen ads for Dreamfield's Pastas, but I have not seen the pasta at the grocery. I did try one whole grain pasta and subtracted the fiber . . . did not do well on BS, though! I miss spaghetti and lasagna . . . hope I can find this and experiment again.

Most bigger grocery stores have it where I live. (WalMart, Meijers) I have seen the spaghetti, lasagna and elbow macaroni. I don't know if there is more than that. We like the taste.

On their website you can check which stores in your area sell Dreamfield pasta.

It's not five grams of carbs for the bolus. It's five grams of digestable carbs. You subract the fiber from the carb count and you bolus for 37 g per cup of cooked pasta. We've been doing it for three years no problems.

Maybe I'm not understanding what it says. The box says to "count 5 grams of carbohydrates per each 56g serving when controlling carbohydrate intake and blood sugar levels...." I weigh out 56 grams of cooked spaghetti on my scale and count it as 5 carbs when I'm figuring up her carbs for the meal. Am I wrong? Sorry to make such a big deal, but as I said, my DD will eat spaghetti (picky eater), so it's important to us!
