I've been off line for a while and thought it will be a while before I'm back so by then you might all have had a chance to take a photo of yourself and post it up.

Nice to see who I'm talking to and all that.

This is me.... might add it's on a good day.

Okay...I'll share but only because my mom got a good shot last weekend at Zeb's birthday party. (and because Fran sent me chocolate and I'd do lots of things for chocolate;))

I hope I got that right...I am so bad with attachments.

If I find a nice-looking pic of me, where I don't look so horizontally-challenged, I'll gladly post it...mind you, this may take a while
Will photos of me as a baby do?? :D

BTW, how on Earth do you attach pics on here (the post)? Is there a special program or website to do this?

2ndBTW, I do have a pic on Facebook, in case anyone wants to look there.

Wow Fran,
You are so pretty, you look a bit like Marlee Matlin to me.

No one wants to see my picture. I was told by a coworker that on a good day, after being in the sun for about three weeks, I might have the color of living flesh. I've always been very pale and I don't look a thing like my kids - my sons have my eyes, but that's about it. Therefore, when I go anywhere with Elizabeth, in particular because she has dark hair, much darker skin, and darker eyes, people always ask if she's mine

Since I'm always tired, it doesn't help. I took some pictures of myself and they scared my husband to death. He went to go download the camera, and he said I reminded him of one of those living zombies in the movies. And you wonder why I can't write anything nice about him in the sappy husband threads.

Well, I rather not terrify the forum. . . and I'm camera shy. BTW, I never ever tan - I only get burnt with red bumps all over. I have to wear heavy SPF when I'm out and about. I once died my hair black in high school, and I looked like a vampire. The kids had a good time picking on me. Picture Marilyn Manson. (ahhhh!!!).

As far as my skin, just add wrinkles, dark ghoulish circles under the eyes, uneven and extremely dry looking skin (not fresh, young and dewy like yours). I think the only thing we have in common is pale skin. It's not fair to compare your young teenage skin with my old, wicked witch skin. :(

My dad calls me "Dracula."

You know what, we may all have our fears about how we look like to the world. We may not like our hair, our double-chin, our less-than-perfect bodies, our pale skins, our age....but inside we're all the same...parents who love our children...who do anything to make them lead a normal life...who are proud of them no matter what...and who hope one day to say goodbye to diabetes.

So, you're all beautiful human beings in my book.

Edited to add:
Did not want to leave anyone out...those who are not parents yet, or who are themselves living with this disease, are doubly-beautiful people to me too.

Marsha, you produce such adorable kids - I picture you as just a grown-up version of Elizabeth. :)

I don't look a thing like Elizabeth. She looks exactly like her father. I have curlyish light hair (unless I blow dry it) and light bluish green eyes, a big nose and yellow teeth from a chronic habit of drinking too much coffee (picture George Washington - he could be my twin). She has stick straight dark hair, medium skin tone and dark grey eyes (like Mark's family), a cute button nose, and she's very beautiful IMO. I still wonder how she came from me!!

Thanks for the kind words.

Funny story: I work with this woman who thought I was related to the House of Hapsburg because she thought I looked like Catherine the Great. Okay, now how she would think I would be related to royalty is one thing, but just because I might look like someone???! In any case, I thought, oooooh, I look like royalty, until I saw a pic of Catherine the Great. Ewwwhhh!!

Here's a picture of my 2 year old, he has my color eyes, and again, not sure how he came from me???

Yes, but they're wisely staying away from this thread.:p You're just making it worse by holding out!:D

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha from that Brady Bunch episode!

Oh, I finally get to see G.A.G. :D ;)

Just so people know, this is an inside joke. G.A.G. stands for "Go Along Grady" because Grady likes to go everywhere and has no fear of the car or other environments. Last weekend he went to my sisters birthday party and hung out in her backyard and explored.

Marsha: I SOOOO didn't expect that. With the dark-haired twins, I expected dark hair, small wire-rimmed glasses, maybe hair pulled tight in a bun with a pencil through it, calculator in one hand, tape on glasses, pants pulled up too high, etc.

You get the picture! :)

Dave,
Did you use a mathematical algorithm to extrapolate my LOB (looks on board).:p

Actually I used the PID control method.

Your true looks are the set point.
Your comments about your looks are the error.
My initial reaction to the error is the proportional part which initially assumes the error is extreme.
As you continued to post about your looks and the errors accumulated I was able to sum up those errors and correct back towards the true set point. That's the integration part.
I was also able to asses that there was a subtle rate of change occurring in your comments about your looks. This rate of change is the derivative part.

Adding all these things together I was able to correct very close to the true set point.

My latest correction is based on your comments SINCE posting your picture. I won't bore you with the formulas but I figure that if you were able to set some time aside to get to the spa once a week and have them do their magic to get rid of the bags and get a facial, you would be hot as hell.;)
