View Full Version : Song that describes your spouse

You can all blame Ellen for this but her post about her husband got me thinking. I'm trying not to be wishy washy on this but what songs describe your feelings about your spouse?

#1- Sharon and mines all time favorite is "What I like about you" by the Ramones. We crank the volume and drive our boys nuts when that song is on the radio.

#2- "Sarah smile" by Hall and Oates.

#3- "Wild thing" by the Troggs. The volume gets cranked on that one too. :D

Dh says he thinks Josh Turner's "Just to Be Your Man" describes us.

My feelings for him? "Wishes" by Out of the Grey. Google it.

PS - Haven't found one yet for my DH...except 'Underneath your clothes' by Shakira...but it doesn't really describe him, just describes my feelings for him. (and it's NOT a dirty song...just so you know)

Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse, it was my wedding song 14 years ago..

I guess the time was right for us to say
We'd take our time and live our lives
Together day by day
We'll make a wish and send it on a prayer
We know our dreams can all come true
With love that we can share

With you I never wonder--will you be there for me
With you I never wonder--you're the right one for me
I finally found the love of a lifetime
A love to last my whole life through
I finally found the love of a lifetime
Forever in my heart
I finally found the love of a lifetime

With every kiss, our love is like brand-new
And every star up in the sky
Was made for me and you
Still we both know that the road is long
We know that we will be together
Because our love is strong

I finally found the love of a lifetime
A love to last my whole life through
I finally found the love of a lifetime
Forever in my heart
I finally found the love of a lifetime

Since Tracy did it, I'll follow suit and post the lyrics to my song, since I'm sure most of you have never even heard of Out of the Grey.

Wishes by Out of They Grey

We don't say much
When we're around each other
I wish you'd tell me
How you feel
We do so much
Dancing around each other
Won't you reach out
And pull me in

So many things I wish you'd say
So much I would change

But I would let these wishes go
Push them all aside
If there was one thing
I could know for sure
Tell me that when this life is over
I will see you there
On the other side of heaven's door
This means more than anything
This is my wish for you

Do you know how much
I really love you
I wish I knew
How to show you more
I do so much
Thinking about you
But keep to myself
What am I waiting for

So many things that I should say
So much I would change

But I would let these wishes go
Push them all aside
If there was one thing
I could know for sure
Tell me that when this life is over
I will see you there
On the other side of heaven's door
This means so much more to me
This is the most important thing
This is my wish for you

Oh and Tracy, now I have that song stuck in my head!!! :p

This has been my husband's motto song always before he even met me - "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd - fits him well. :)

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
And if you do this
It will help you some sunny day.

Take your time... don’t live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
Go find a woman and you’ll find love,
And don’t forget son,
There is someone up above.

(chorus)
And be a simple kind of man.
Be something you love and understand.
Be a simple kind of man.
Won’t you do this for me son,
If you can?

Forget your lust for the rich man’s gold
All that you need is in your soul,
And you can do this if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

OK, I feel like being nice to her today.;) How about THESE lyrics?

Sheriff - When I'm With You

I never needed love
Like I need you
And I never lived for nobody
But I live for you
Ooh babe
Lost in love is what I feel
When I'm with you

Maybe it's the way you touch me
With the warmth of the sun
Maybe it's the way you smile
I come all undone
Ooh babe
Lost in love is what I feel
When I'm with you

Baby ooh I get chills when I'm with you oh
Oh baby my world stands still when I'm with you
When I'm with you

I never cared for nobody
Like I care for you
And I never wanted to share the things
I want to share to with you
Ooh babe
Lost in love is what I feel
When I'm with you

Baby ooh I get chills when I'm with you oh
O baby my world stands still when I'm with you oh oh
Baby ooh I get chills when I'm with you oh
O baby my world stands still when I'm with you
When I'm with you

Love Me Tomorrow - Chicago

She said, "It's lonely here tonight"
She's always sad when she's alone
She said "I need you here tonight"
She couldn't wait 'til I get home
She loves me
And that's all I need to know
She's part of my life
Just a part I won't let go
Then she said

"Love me tomorrow
Won't you please, promise me
Love me tomorrow like today
Love me tomorrow
Hurry back, can't you see
I need you more than yesterday"

You know it's always cold at night
It's always lonely 'til the dawn
You know it's not what we put on
Knowing she's there, I'll carry on
Because she loves me
And that's all I need to know
She's part of my life
Just a part I won't let go
Then she said

"Love me tomorrow
Won't you please, promise me
Love me tomorrow like today
Love me tomorrow
Hurry back, can't you see
I need you more than any words could say"

She loves me
And that's all I need to know
She's part of my life
Just a part I won't let go
Then she said

"Love me tomorrow
Won't you please, promise me
Love me tomorrow like today
Love me tomorrow
Hurry back, can't you see
Need you much more than yesterday
Love me tomorrow
Hurry back, can't you see
Need you much more than yesterday
Love me tomorrow
Love me tomorrow like today
Love me tomorrow
I need you much more than yesterday
Love me tomorrow
Love me tomorrow like today

Time for Me to Fly - REO Speedwagon

I've been around for you
I've been up and down for you
But I just can't get any relief
I've swallowed my pride for you
I've lived and lied for you
But you still make me feel like a thief

You got me stealin' your love away
'Cause you never give it
Peeling the years away
And we can't relive it
Oh I make you live
And you make cry
I believe it's time for me to fly

You said we'd work it out
You said that you had no doubt
That deep down we were really in love
Oh, but I'm tired of holding on
To a feeling I know is gone
I do believe that I've had enough

I've had enough of the falseness
Of a worn out relation
Enough of the jealousy
And the intoleration
Oh I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly

CHORUS:
Time for me to fly
Oh, I've got to set myself free
Time for me to fly
And that's just how it's got to be
I know it hurts to say goodbye
But it's time for me to fly

Oh, don't you know it's...

CHORUS

It's time for me to fly...

Into my arms by Nick Cave. It was the first song he played for me. (we started dating shortly afterwards :D)

I don't believe in an interventionist God
But I know, darling, that you do
But if I did I would kneel down and ask Him
Not to intervene when it came to you
Not to touch a hair on your head
To leave you as you are
And if He felt He had to direct you
Then direct you into my arms

Into my arms, O Lord
Into my arms, O Lord
Into my arms, O Lord
Into my arms

And I don't believe in the existence of angels
But looking at you I wonder if that's true
But if I did I would summon them together
And ask them to watch over you
To each burn a candle for you
To make bright and clear your path
And to walk, like Christ, in grace and love
And guide you into my arms

Into my arms, O Lord
Into my arms, O Lord
Into my arms, O Lord
Into my arms

And I believe in Love
And I know that you do too
And I believe in some kind of path
That we can walk down, me and you
So keep your candle burning
And make her journey bright and pure
That she will keep returning
Always and evermore

Into my arms, O Lord
Into my arms, O Lord
Into my arms, O Lord
Into my arms

I have two songs that are my husband. Both are by Brad Paisley, one is Check you got ticks and the other is , I'm still a man. that one is his ringtone when he calls my cell phone.

Here are the lyrics

When you see a deer you see Bambi
And I see antlers up on the wall
When you see a lake you think picnics
And I see a large mouth up under that log
You're probably thinking that you're going to change me
In some ways well maybe you might
Scrub me down, dress me up oh but no matter what
remember I'm still a guy

When you see a priceless French painting
I see a drunk, naked girl
You think that riding a wild bull sounds crazy
And I'd like to give it a whirl
Well love makes a man do some things he ain't proud of
And in a weak moment I might walk your sissy dog, hold your purse at the mall
But remember, I'm still a guy

I'll pour out my heart
Hold your hand in the car
Write a love song that makes you cry
Then turn right around knock some jerk to the ground
'Cause he copped a feel as you walked by

I can hear you now talking to your friends
Saying, "Yeah girls he's come a long way"
From dragging his knuckles and carrying a club
And building a fire in a cave
But when you say a backrub means only a backrub
Then you swat my hand when I try
Well, now what can I say at the end of the day
Honey, I'm still a guy

And I'll pour out my heart
Hold your hand in the car
Write a love song that makes you cry
Then turn right around knock some jerk to the ground
'Cause he copped a feel as you walked by

These days there's dudes getting facials
Manicured, waxed and botoxed
With deep spray-on tans and creamy lotiony hands
You can't grip a tacklebox

Yeah with all of these men lining up to get neutered
It's hip now to be feminized
I don't highlight my hair
I've still got a pair
Yeah honey, I'm still a guy

Oh my eyebrows ain't plucked
There's a gun in my truck
Oh thank God, I'm still a guy

Silly Love by 10CC

Hey toots, you put the life into living
You brought a sigh into sight
Ah hon, you make my legs turn to water
You bring the stars out at night
But they ain't half so bright
As your eyes
Gee whiz, you take the beauty out of beautiful
You play the strings of my heart
Oh babe, you take the wonder out of wonderful
Oh my, oh my, and my, if you were mine
The rain would turn to sweet sweet wine
Well he's been up all night
Breakin' his head in two to write
A little sonnet for his chickadee
But between you and me
I think its sssssssssssilly. Silly
Ooh treas, you got a smile like a Rembrandt
Aha, you got the style of a queen
Oh dear, you are the petal of a rosebud
Next to you all the others could be weeds
You're the only one my garden needs
Ooh, you know the art of conversation
Must be dying
Ooh, when a romance depends on
Cliches and toupees and threepes
We're up to here with moonin' and junin'
If you want to sound sincere -
Don't rely on Crosby's croonin' -
Take a little time
Make up your own rhyme
Don't rely on mine
'Cos it's sssssssssilly - silly - silly - silly

Ok now that I'm in a better mood, this is the one I'm trying to get worked out to sing for DH for our 10th anniversary next year:

Good Thing Going by Carolyn Arends

We've got a good thing going so we've got to protect it
They say people lose it when they least expect it
Baby I know it's true-But I don't worry 'bout us

And all the friends we thought were gonna make it forever
They all ran into trouble and now they're not together
Baby I know it's sad-but I don't worry 'bout us

'Cause how could anybody turn my head
When my heart is forever lost to you
How could I fall into another's arms
When I've fallen so deep into a love so true

We've got a good thing going so we can't get lazy
Got to keep working at it, but then
You know I'm crazy for you
It's not so hard-so I don't worry about us

How could anybody turn my head
When my heart's forever lost to you
How could I fall into another's arms
When I've fallen so deep into a love so true

We've got a good thing going and we've got to protect it
Because there's nothing better, baby-don't you forget it
I know I never will, so I don't worry 'bout us
Oh no-baby I never will-I don't worry 'bout us

Love is Something that We Do by Clint Black

I remember well the day we wed
I can see that picture in my head
I still believe the words we said
Forever will ring true
Love is certain, love is kind
Love is yours and love is mine
But it isn't something that we find
It's something that we do
It's holding tight, lettin' go
It's flying high and laying low
Let your strongest feelings show
And your weakness, too
It's a little and a lot to ask
An endless and a welcome task
Love isn't something that we have
It's something that we do
We help to make each other all that we can be
Though we can find our strength and inspiration independently
The way we work together is what sets our love apart
So closely that you can't tell where I end and where you start
Love is wide, love is long
Love is deep and love is strong
Love is why I love this song
And I hope you love it too
I remember well the day we wed
I can see that picture in my head
Love isn't just those words we said
It's something that we do
There's no request too big or small
We give ourselves, we give our all
Love isn't someplace that we fall
It's something that we do

"Still The One" by Shania Twain. It describes us because my husband and I started dating when I was 14 years old...in the 8th grade! He is five years older than I am. Before you all get started, LOL - small town, my dad knew his grandma, etc., etc..

Anyway...we married when I was 19, and now, 16 years later, we are still married, and better yet, we are HAPPY, which no one, not even us, would have predicted. We went through some seriously rocky times, and some times in which we both thought the end was inevitable, but we are still here, and he is "Still the One" I kiss goodnight :-).

YOU'RE STILL THE ONE (Shania Twain)

When I first saw you, I saw love.
And the first time you touched me,
I felt love.
And after all this time, you're still the one I love.

Looks like we made it
Look how far we've come my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we'd get there someday

They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong

(You're still the one)
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night

Ain't nothin' better
I'm glad we didn't listen
Look at what we would be missin

They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong

(You're still the one)
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night

(You're still the one)
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night

I'm so glad we made it
Look how far we've come my baby

Great thread, by the way!

The last verse in Hotel California reminds me of marriage in general:rolleyes:

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
’relax,’ said the night man,
We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
But you can never leave!

Not that I have a horrible marriage or husband (he's a great dad), it just gets boring and mundane sometimes, and I have to add something to take away from all the mushy gushy posts in this thread because I'm jealous!!!

The Song that discribes our life......Phil Vassar

Just another day in Paradise.

The kids screaming, phone ringing
Dog barking at the mailman bringing
That stack of bills - overdue
Good morning baby, how are you?
Got a half hour, quick shower
Take a drink of milk but the milk's gone sour
My funny face makes you laugh
Twist the top on and I put it back
There goes the washing machine
Baby, don't kick it.
I promise I'll fix it
Long about a million other things

Well, it's ok. It's so nice
It's just another day in paradise
Well, there's no place that
I'd rather be
Well, it's two hearts
And one dream
I wouldn't trade it for anything
And I ask the Lord every night
For just another day in paradise

Friday, you're late
Guess we'll never make our dinner date
At the restaurant you start to cry
Baby, we'll just improvise
Well, plan B looks like
Dominoes' pizza in the candle light
Then we'll tippy toe to our room
Make a little love that's overdue
But somebody had a bad dream
Mama and daddy
Can me and my teddy
Come in to sleep in between?

Yeah it's ok. It's so nice.
It's just another day in paradise.
Well, there's no place that
I'd rather be
Well, it's two hearts
And one dream
I wouldn't trade it for anything
And I ask the Lord every night
For just another day in paradise

Well, it's ok. It's so nice.
It's just another day in paradise.
Well, there's no place that
I'd rather be
Two hearts
And one dream
I wouldn't trade it for anything
And I ask the Lord every night
For just another day in paradise

For just another day in paradise
Well, it's the kids screaming. The phone ringing
Just another day
Well, it's Friday. You're late
Oh yeah, it's just another day in paradise

Since D, I've realized that I can't do this alone. That even though I am my son's primary caregiver, that my husband and I are in this together, and that together, we're more than twice as strong as we are seperately. So, in that vein, I give you:

"Power of Two" by the Indigo Girls:

Now the parking lot is empty
Everyone's gone someplace
I pick you up and in the trunk I've packed
A cooler and a 2-day suitcase
Cause there's a place we like to drive
Way out in the country
Five miles out of the city limit we're singing
And your hand's upon my knee

So we're okay
We're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We'll look at them together then we'll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two

You know the things that I am afraid of
I'm not afraid to tell
And if we ever leave a legacy
It's that we loved each other well
Cause I've seen the shadows of so many people
Trying on the treasures of youth
But a road that fancy and fast
Ends in a fatal crash
And I'm glad we got off
To tell you the truth

Cause we're okay
We're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
Well look at them together then well take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two

All the shiny little trinkets of temptation
(Make new friends)
Something new instead of something old
(But keep the old)
All you gotta do is scratch beneath the surface
(But remember what is gold)
And it's fools gold
(What is gold)
Fools gold
(What is gold)
Fools gold

Now we're talking about a difficult thing
And your eyes are getting wet
I took us for better and I took us for worse
Don't you ever forget it
Now the steel bars between me and a promise
Suddenly bend with ease
The closer I'm bound in love to you
The closer I am to free

So we're okay
We're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We'll look at them together then well take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two

Just heard a song on the radio that was perfect. :D

Beauty and the Beast ;)

Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Than somebody bends
Unexpectedly

Just a little change
Small, to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared (back in 1985)
Beauty and the Beast

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will arise

Tale as old as time
Tune as old as song
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong

Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast.

Okay...this isn't a mushy song, but as soon as I heard it, I thought of Brian. In fact, when he calls me, it's my ringtone.....remember, we have a teenage daugher....

Cleaning This Gun - Rodney Atkins

The declaration of independence
Think I can tell you that first sentence
But then I'm lost
I can't begin to count the theories
I've had pounded in my head that I forgot
I don't remember all that Spanish
Or the Gettysburg address
But there is one speech from high school
I'll never forgot

Chorus:

Come on in boy, sit on down
And tell me 'bout yourself
So you like my daughter, do you now
Yeah we think she's something else
She's her daddy's girl her mama's world
She deserves respect, that's what she'll get, ain't it son
Now y'all run along and have some fun
I'll see you when you get back
Bet I'll be up all night
Still cleaning this

Well now that I'm a father
I'm scared to death one day my daughter's gonna find
That teenage boy I used to be
Who seems to have just one thing on his mind
She's growing up so fast it won't be long
'fore I'll have to put the fear of God
Into some kid at the door

Come on in boy, sit on down
And tell me 'bout yourself
So you like my daughter, do you now
Yeah we think she's something else
She's her daddy's girl, her momma's world
She deserves respect, thats what she'll get
Ain't it son, ya'll run on and have some fun
I'll see you when you get back
Probably be up all night
Still cleaning this

It's all for show, ain't nobody gonna get hurt
it's just a daddy thing, hey believe me man, it works

Now Come on in boy, sit on down
And tell me 'bout yourself
So you like my daughter, do you now
Yeah we think she's something else
She's her daddy's girl, her momma's world
She deserves respect, thats what she'll get
Ain't it son, ya'll run on and have a little fun
I'll see you when you get back
Probably be up all night
Still cleaning this

That was our wedding song as well---it'll be 15years next month:)

Ok, gotta new one for my H.

Treat Her Like a Lady by Celine Dion and (I think!) Salt N Pepa. Not that everything in the song is something he's done, but the jist of it...

TREAT HER LIKE A LADY

AND I'LL SHOW YOU MAN
SOME OF THE MAN SOME THE MAN THEY LOOK TO HIT AND RUN YES
SOME OF THE MAN THEY LOOK HIT AND RUN X2

RUN RUN RUN RUN

GO, go go goes around, comes around, x3 go go

All the girl could want was a little attention
From a man who's strong and not to mention
Kiss and caressing her all night long wooooaaahh
But all that boy wants is to hit and run off
He and his friends-they sit and they laugh
Going around talking 'bout the girls they used in the past

U gotta get what's comin' to u
For all the bad, bad things u do to your

Lady, treat her like a lady
U'll make a good girl crazy
If u don't treat her like a lady

Lady, treat her like a lady
U'll make a good girl crazy
If u don't treat her like a lady

go go go goes around, comes around, go go!

HEAR IT

She stopped going to church, she don't wanna go to school
She left with anger when he took her for a fool
Even though her friends tell her to just keep cool
Didn't tell her from the start just what he had planned
Right in her face with another woman
Now she's in jail for attacking her man

U gotta get what's comin' to u
For all the bad, bad things u do to your

Lady, treat her like a lady
U'll make a good girl crazy
If u don't treat her like a lady

Lady, treat her like a lady
U'll make a good girl crazy
If u don't treat her like a lady

go go go goes around, comes around, go go!
Treat her like a lady
Oh baby!
Treat her like a lady, baby
Treat her like a lady, baby
Treat her like a lady, ohhhhh
Treat her like a lady!

SOME OF THE MAN SOME THE MAN THEM LOOK TO HIT AND RUN YES
SOME OF THE MAN THEM LOOK HIT AND RUN X2

GO What goes around, comes around, go!
What goes around, comes around, go go!

Tell it to her straight, she can take the truth
Don't lead her on and on and leave her confused
Anyone would rather be alone than be used
Don't sit and think you'll hurt her feelings
She only wants to know just what the deal is
Next time beware of who's heart your breaking

U gotta get what's comin' to u
For all the bad, bad things u do to your

Lady, treat her like a lady
U'll make a good girl crazy
If u don't treat her like a lady

Lady, treat her like a lady
U'll make a good girl crazy
If u don't treat her like a lady

(CRAZY CRAZY EEH)

Lady, treat her like a lady
U'll make a good girl crazy (I'M IN LOVE)
If u don't treat her like a lady (WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND EEH)

Lady, treat her like UR lady (TREAT HER LIKE A LADY)
U'll make a good girl crazy
If u don't treat her like a lady

Lady, treat her like a lady
U'll make a good girl crazy
If u don't treat her like a lady

treat her like a lady(SOME OF THE MAN SOME THE MAN THEM LOOK TO HIT AND RUN YES)(GO GO)
TREAT HER LIKE A LADAY(SOME OF THE MAN SOME THE MAN THEM LOOK TO HIT AND RUN)(I'M IN LOVE)(GO GO)
treat her like a lady (POOOOOH!)

QUOTE=OSUMom;177498]Love is Something that We Do by Clint Black

I remember well the day we wed
I can see that picture in my head
I still believe the words we said
Forever will ring true
Love is certain, love is kind
Love is yours and love is mine
But it isn't something that we find
It's something that we do
It's holding tight, lettin' go
It's flying high and laying low
Let your strongest feelings show
And your weakness, too
It's a little and a lot to ask
An endless and a welcome task
Love isn't something that we have
It's something that we do
We help to make each other all that we can be
Though we can find our strength and inspiration independently
The way we work together is what sets our love apart
So closely that you can't tell where I end and where you start
Love is wide, love is long
Love is deep and love is strong
Love is why I love this song
And I hope you love it too
I remember well the day we wed
I can see that picture in my head
Love isn't just those words we said
It's something that we do
There's no request too big or small
We give ourselves, we give our all
Love isn't someplace that we fall
It's something that we do [/QUOTE]

Kenney Chesney's She Thinks My Tractors Sexy ;)

Yes my husband is a Rancher/Farmer

Plowin' these fields in the hot summer sun
Over by the gate lordy here she comes
With a basket full of chicken and a big cold jug of sweet tea
I make a little room and she climbs on up
Open up the throttle and stir a little dust
Just look at her face she ain't a foolin' me

She thinks my tractor's sexy
It really turns her on
She's always starin' at me
While I'm chuggin' along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land
She's even kind of crazy 'bout my farmer's tan
She's the only one who really understands what gets me
She thinks my tractor's sexy

We ride back and forth 'til we run out of light
Take it to the barn put it up for the night
Climb up in the loft sit and talk with the radio on
She said she's got a dream and I asked what it is
She wants a little farm and a yard full of kids
And one more teeny weeny ride before I take her home

She thinks my tractor's sexy
It really turns her on
She's always starin' at me
While I'm chuggin' along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land
She's even kind of crazy 'bout my farmer's tan
She's the only one who really understands what gets me
She thinks my tractor's sexy

Well she ain't into cars or pickup trucks
But if it runs like a Deere man her eyes light up

She thinks my tractor's
She thinks my tractor's sexy
It really turns her on
She's always starin' at me
While I'm chuggin' along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land
She's even kind of crazy 'bout my farmer's tan
She's the only one who really understands what gets me

She thinks my tractor's sexy
She thinks my tractor's sexy
She thinks my tractor's sexy

A night on the town with you
We'll start with dinner here
It's tacos for two
A little candlelight
and a lot of cheer
I'll help you clean this mess up
Then we're out of here
Gee, you look swell
and I like your cologne
and it's such a nice night
I'm glad we're alone
How 'bout a movie,
A drink or a dance
My money's kinda low,
but I'm high on romance

Chorus

And I knew you'd be the kind of girl
I'd love to spend my time with
From the minute that we met
I think we knew
That nothing could be better than
The time we spend together
And as long as it's forever,
there'll be plenty to do

Let's catch a subway
Get off at Times Square
We'll stop by Sardi's,
The stars all eat there
And if we see some
They'll see us too
and if we don't, let's just say we did
Who'll know it's not true?

Chorus

Oh I'd love to take you dancing
At the Copa or Regine's
Or maybe spend an evening at the Ritz
But the work's been kinda lousy
And I don't have a tie
So let's just keep romancin'
While the night flies by

What do you say now
Shall we head on back
Or just keep strollin
And stop for a snack
We can dunk some donuts
Or catch the late show
'Cause it's our night on the town
Gee, how quickly it goes

Chorus
