When you put the site in their belly, do they feel the insulin going in? Trevor doesn't seem to feel the insulin when the site is in his butt or his leg. Just curios.

Alli feels it in her belly. I thought she was being overdramatic. She does sometimes tend to be a drama queen. We just got her to do a bootie site and she said she didn't feel it. Maybe cuz there is more meat back there. I'm not sure.

We only used the belly once with bad results...not enough fat on her little belly. She didn't feel tiny doses but she cried when I bolused her for her lunch. She NEVER cries ( for D stuff anyway).

I have no idea :D but good question though. I'm curious to see what others reply.
Could it be that the insulin was still a bit cold?

Brittney doesn't feel the insulin much going into her belly however she says on the bootie it burns. Her belly is off limits till I see an improvement with the scare tissue.
She too can be a drama queen ALOT.. 9 year old going on 18..lol.

mark could totally feel it going into his belly. he always said it stung, and would combo bolus anything over 2 units so he got 50% up front, and the other 50% over 6 minutes.
because he's so skinny, he'd cry a lot when i put the site in his belly. so now i'm rotating it on his bum, and he NEVER complains about the insulin hurting. he can bolus 4 units no problem now, which he could never do in the belly.
i think the extra padding in his bum helps. :-)

We don't refrigerate our insulin after its opened, so its not that. He doesn't say it stings he just says, "hey, I can feel that."
He definately prefers to use his bootie, but I try making him do other spots.
