Anyone have a number spent each year on research. With so many organizations and governments giving grants it has to be astounding.
I saw the ADA WAS 40 million alone....whats the total

NIH spends $995,950,000 on diabetes research.
The JDRF has spent 123 million already for the 2006 FY.
Overall in 2002, the NHMRC allocated $22.4 million for research into diabetes and its complications.
However, that is not taking into account for all of the universities who have their own research, and all of the other researchers who collect private funding on their own. Or the different pharmacutical companies who use money to make new drugs, and immunizations, or are working on things like closed loop systems, or implantable devises for B/G ect...
I would estemate a few billion a year minimum.
