DH has been interested in book called Engergy Victory.
Don't have it yet, but it sounds very interesting.
Its about how we can get off the oil addiction we have in america.
Brazil has done it. I found this website about brazil and what they have done iwth converting sugar cane into ethanol. very cheap for them since they have perfect conditions to grow sugar cane and have cheap labor. the ethanol(carbohydrate) is also environmentally friendly-doesn't release any co2 http://yaleglobal.yale.edu/display.article?id=6817
