Ok, the drag my feet, non-joiner will join in.

Hi! I'm Maddie's mom, Sarah. DH (university prof), Maddie (Lacrosse queen) and I (Jane of many trades),Dog #1 Shamus (Border Collie), and Dog #2 Kiwi (Yorkie with attitude) live in CT about 60 miles from my hometown of NYC.

Maddie's been a "Diabedian" (her term) for over 5 years now. It's a big part of our lives but we try not to let it run the show. I write ( essays and commentary mostly), muck around in my garden and paint (badly). Getting a serious itch to get back into the world of paid work, been a sahm for 10 (! WOW, really?) years. I read a lot, favorite book has to be Anna Karinina, or maybe one of William Maxwell's.

We are going to FFL for the first time this summer! It took me ages to find CWD, but it really has helped me keep my sanity, well ... sanity is highly overrated inho, so perhaps it has helped me keep my sense of humor about the whole business.

Things I can't live without:
Furry creatures, all
Spell check
Lemons, capers and olive oil
a good book
Tag/yard sales

Things I can live without:
Mushy bananas
Snarky people
All cable news networks

I too have to have furry creatures, I seriously doubt I could live without a dog..Or I would not want to. Olive oil is all I ever use..

Curry is to me what capers are to you!!!! See, we have something in common...Work with me here, Sarah....we both love stuff, be it curry or capers :D (I know, Nothing makes sense in my world, but everything has a sense though...see ??)

N.B.: Although I love curry, it was used as a 'pun' for 'adding more flavor to my diabetes learning endeavor' .... I used the curry metaphor in reference to one of twodoor2's posts...
