I'm not sure where I should have put this, in OT, or here.. but it DOES have to do with diabetes... so I put it here.. I've finally got an appointment with the hospital on what happened to Kaylee.. apparently, me mentioning bringing Kaylee's dr. freaked them out.. because they've gone ahead and already had a meeting with ALL the heads of the department.. so they want a meeting with me, the lady cordinating it, and the head of pediatrics (he's an independent dr, not associated with the hospital, he's there to oversee things) they don't want anyone else there.. I told them that was fine.. and then I called Kaylee's dr. and told her the date and time, I made it for 3 weeks from now, so she has time to clear her schedule LMOA.. :D I'm NO WAY going in it alone.. also I talked with Kaylee's cde and she said there is an ADA advocate in the area that is a lawyer! so I'm calling the ADA later today..
just wanted to update:)
editied to say WOW.. I guess I NEED to pay more attention when I type, that should be THEY'RE not THEIR.. thats what I get for typing fast, knew something wasn't right when I posted, and I just caught it lol..

I am so glad to hear that you will not be going to this meeting alone..I would so love to be a fly on the wall just to be able to see their faces when you walk into the meeting with the people you will be bringing with you :D

I don't blame you for not wanting to go alone I wouldn't want to either. I can't wait to hear the outcome of this whole ordeal you have gone through with the hospital.. I have a feeling you are going to hear alot of "Im Sorry's" going on..

I would definitely ask that the ADA advocate come with you. PLEASE don't go alone!!! Maybe we can all go with ya?! :D

The hospital is "circling the wagons" and trying to catch you blindsided. BTDT with a bunch of middle school teachers once a long time ago. You are so wise to recognize this strategy and short circuit it.
There are people who are trained in ways to put adversaries at a disadvantage and clearly this bunch of know-nothings was trying to work this magic on you.
Move over on the wall, all you flies. I feel a trip to NH coming on!

Oh I would so love to be there with you. Good for you for not letting them corner you that way. Bring in the big guns and go for the throat?? Something like that I think. lol

I would also suggest taking a small hand held recorder. So you can put it on the table so there is not back tracking later on. There should be no reason you can not use it as I am sure they will have one of there own. Insurance companies use it all the time. I used one after my house fire when they came to take my statement about what happened. They took out theres and I took out mine:D

Like I said in the last thread...DO NOT GO ALONE!!!! They will be fit to be tied but there is no reason you can't have informed representative on your side of the table to....they are planning on intimadating you.....Don't let them....

Even though they haven't said it... I'm pretty sure the 'contact' that I've been dealing with is the Hospital Lawyer.. she had the same silly title as the lady (who was the lawyer) who came into Kaylee's hospital room that first morning.. now.. I just thought of something great.. and its making me smiley.. Kaylee's 3 month appointment is june 4th.. I was hoping I could sneak in a meeting with her endo some how before this meeting.. but I won't have to, I just remembered that her appointment is the 4th.. Oh, I'm going to enjoy walking in with her:D and man, it would be nice to walk in with about 50 other parents too!:cwds:

I'm so glad you're not going to that meeting alone. Know that we are all there with you in spirit. We would be there in person if we could be. I would love to join those flies on the wall.:D

Good job. I am in agreement with you. Telling you that you are not allowed to bring anyone with you to the meeting sends up big red flags in my head. You stand your ground. Everyone of us is 100% behind you.
