I bought Kaylee some 'fruit' snacks (not sure why they have 'fruit' in the title, since I don't think there is any fruit in them.. ) she NEVER gets these, but has been asking for them for a while now.. I bought them because she hit her first baseball pitch (instead of off the T) in her game last night, and Jaylin caught her first ball (the only ball that was caught in the game) that came from 'the sky' as she put it LOL.. so I bought them a special 'treat'.. now, I'm not sure how I should dose for them.. should I give a pre-bolus 15/20m before I give them to her.. and just let her have those.. or should I do my norm 15m /15c bolus, give her those, and something else, with protien, so they absorb slower, and then do the normal squarewave for 3 hours?? she's been asking for them, hasn't had any yet, because I can't figure out the best way to bolus for them LOL..

any thoughts??:)

It's pretty individual how each body will respond to different snacks.

BTW, these are quite delicious and have nice ingredients (not sure if they are GF though for down the road). Stretch Island Fruit Co.™ (http://www.stretch-island.com/)

We have some in the house right now and I wish we would prebolus for them, but it is usually on the fly :( So I eould prebolus if you have the option.

We used to use fruit snacks to treat lows for Griffin when he was smaller. They were the fastest acting carb for us.

we use mini fruit rollups and 1/2 package of fruit snacks for lows

dalton my toddler knows that we keep fruit snacks in decota's sugar bag and snatches them every time that he can get the bag open and then hides and eats them (non d child)

I have forgotten all about 'fruit' snacks. When Kelton was in public school this is what they preferred to have to treat lows. I had to stop buying them because Kelton would eat them just because he liked them and would forget to bolus them with his pump

I got a food dehydrator for Christmas last year and tried to make fruit roll-ups, they came out well but were devoured in less than a minute by both boys  all that work for a minute of eating pleasure LOL..

since it was close to lunch time, I ended up pre-bolusing and then giving the rest in a squarewave.. so, we'll see how that goes.. she started out a bit high (190) so it could be a total disaster!
