Well we where going to go to diabetes camp in california 05/30/08 to 06/01/08... Then going to visit with family till 06/06/08. Well Charlize GI called and they wanted her Endoscopy to be for 06/02/08.. BUt as you can see we will be out of town.... They can get us in on 05/30/08. in the am.. SO we are not going to diabetes family camp but will stll leave for cali later that day ( we will play it by ear) Then go to an amusement park... SO we are scheadueled... and hopefully we willl get to the bottom of this tummy isses and get her blood sugars stablized again.

Chandra, I'm sorry she has to miss camp.
Both Abby and I have had endoscopies done and it is a very simple proceedure.
Abby was able to where her pump during the proceedure as it only lasts about 1.5hrs from start to finish (this means prep, anethesia, proceedure, recovery).
She was given a choice of smells for the anethesia, showed her how it works and then put it on her face. Wheeled her off and it was done.
Make sure that you are at the spot where she will be returned to and waiting, they'll want to check her bg asap and this will wake her up (you know how those hospital pokers are!).
Abby remembers nothing of it, all I remember of mine was the doc saying open your mouth wide.
She was a litte groggy after and had a bad taste in her mouth, but was able to eat a little. Some kids do get naseaus, so you may want to get a scrip for Zophran considering you are going away that day.
