Grace. :D Bet that was a surprise, huh?
I have three children and we've been homeschooling for seven years. We live on a farm in rural southern Kentucky.
My 16yo son was diagnosed February 22, 2007, just after his 15th birthday. He plays competitive soccer and basketball, which is always a challenge for us. His biggest diabetes challenge is his grazing eating habits. :p Currently he is on Novolog and Lantus.
I also have 14yo and 10yo daughters. The 14yo plays basketball and dances, the 10yo plays competitive soccer and dances. My 14yo has asthma, IBS, and reflux (which are most likely interrelated) so she spends almost as much time at Vanderbilt as my son. They doctors are looking into food allergies now that we know for sure she does not have celiac.
Then there's church, choir, and other homeschool activities. When my children are grown I will be uniquely qualified to become a PAID full-time taxi driver. :p We've talked about moving into town so we can avoid some of the driving, but everyone (except me) loves living in the country. That could be because *I* am the one driving...
Edited to add a picture of my ds:
