Hi,
I'm Fran from Fredericksburg Va.
Not sure if being a RN helped me when our dd was dx in sept 05. a little info can sometimes be a bad thing. She was 9 and got a animas pump a year later at age 10.Things are going pretty good. numbers aren't perfect, they're mostly good. she'll be 12 this summer and manages a lot of her pump herself.
Her ds was dx with bulemia last spring-she's doing well in counseling. hasn't gained much of any weight. she's still on her growth charts, just a skinny little thing. my friend thinks she may have become bulemic to get attention. her sister could get all kinds of attention from the D. and her father has always emphasied/worried about the kids being fat. but she's doing great, and may have a career in cooking-she loves to cook now-mainly pastries-cookies, cakes etc.
Better go-Is there a limit on how long these intro's are? I better stop before I say too much.:D
