So my son made a little mother's day book at school. They must have done some brainstorming in class and he was taking other kids ideas. But it was nice to know Diabetes wasn't on his mind as much as it is on mine. :D

First he wrote: My mom is a doctor, because she gives me chicken soup and lets me watch cartoons when I'm sick.

Umm...no. I don't think I have ever given him chicken soup when he sick. Maybe once like 3 years ago because it's low in carbs and he couldn't keep anything down. But this is not a regular occurence. And I'm thinking, what about all the shots, and finger pricks! And drawing insulin, and counting carbs! :p

Then he writes: My mom is a chauffeur because she brings me to the mall on hot days.

Huh? I hardly ever go to the mall. And I never go with him. Once again, like 2 years ago we had a heat wave in CA of 117. I brought him to the mall then because I wanted to give our A/C a break. What about when I truck him all over the state to go to all of his doctor appointments. We have one practically ever week!

He's too funny. He said I'm an engineer because I can fix his slinky no matter how much he messes it up. Ok, that ones true. I love fixing those stupid things. I just zone out and unwind. It's like my version of knitting. lol

It was a paper on "My mom wears many hats." I loved it! There was another part where they put a sentence in front of each letter of M-O-T-H-E-R for "H" he put -Has an awesome I-Pod. ROFL He cracks me up.

Just thought I would share.

Exactly what I was thinking! Haley will remember things I've long forgotten about.

Doctor? Chauffeur? Engineer? How do you manage all three and still have time to listen to the I-Pod :D

My oldest, Ian, says dad goes to work, and mom says no

Reminds me of the year that I got dishes for Christmas - asked why I got the dishes and Tyler who was about 4 at the time said "you like doing dishes so much I thought you would want more"
Was so sweet, but made me sad that he thought that I actually liked doing dishes, especially when it seemed like everytime I was doing them, he asked me to play, and I would tell him that I would play after I did the dishes. So he thought I liked doing dishes more than playing with him:(
