Aarons lymphnoids are swollen

Took Aaron to Endo apt. yesterday A1C was 9:(, he has been running high past week or two for no apparent reason). Well yesterday right before appt. my husband noticed a knot on Aarons neck. It came up out of nowhere. Ask the Endo about it left there and went to pediatrician who stated may be some bacteria infection and will cause BG levels to rise and dude to Aaron having Type 1 body easily allows for infection.

Do your children sometimes have swollen lymphnoids? Aaron has had some ear fluid drainage before but this time it is his lymphnoid actually he has one large quarter size one and one dime size one.

Have information on pumps now Cozmoe, Animas, Omnipod.

If it's an infection, he might need an antibiotic. Was that discussed????? I had swollen glands (lymph nodes) all the time has a kid and strep throat. Has anyone checked for strep throat? Sorry he's sick.:cwds::cwds:

allergies will also give swollen lymphs. Matt had that happen once.

This statement is not true. All Type 1 diabetics do not get infections more easily. My son is hardly ever sick any more. As a child gets older, he gets sick less and less as the immune system adjusts to the germs around it.

Yes they gave prescript for Augmentin.
Also Valerie K said allegies can cause swollen lymphnoids. I think Aaron is developing Allergies if that makes sense. His sister and I have them terribly and he has been sneezing more then usual lately. I have some zyrtec i may start giving him after i contact his endo of course.

When I was 8 or 9, my lymphnodes swelled up huge for no real reason. I hadnt been sick or anything. They were marble sized and I looked like Frankenstein. I ended up hospitalized from it because they continued to swell and they were ready to drain to them. They gave me massive amounts of antibiotics and they started to go down. The doctors determined that for some odd reason my lymphnodes were storing the bad stuff they were filtering instead of breaking it down. Once or twice a year since then they swell up again, but never as big as that first time and Ive never had to take antibiotics for it again either. No doctor Ive asked about it ever could really tell me why they do it and they have all said its nothing to worry about unless they swell so bad that they interfere with my breathing or swallowing.

I dont have tonsils or adnoids(they were removed when I was 2) and I get a really nasty case of strep throat once or twice a year. Its hard to get rid of and doesnt present in the usual way. I never got strep until I was 17 and I guess thats pretty unusual. The doctors think that my strep throat and swelling adnoids may be related, but they arent totally sure why. I also had mono as a kid which they think was likely related to my swelling lymphnodes.
