He did a great job.. We go to his concerts whenever he is in town.
If you get a chance listen to his song "Its all Good". It talks about when he got diabetes and his life of how it started.. The first time I heard it over a year ago I got the chills....

I've never heard that song, I'll have to look it up. Is it a Poison song or a solo?
I had to stay up late to watch it last night. One of the disadvantage of being ahead of Eastern Time I guess. I usually go to bed at 10 but stayed up until 11 to watch it. I really enjoyed it. Bret (only one t) is one of my childhood idols, and I like him even more now that he's become public about his D. What an inspiration to our little ones! And now this!! Here's my 2 hairy thumbs up for you Bret! Way to go ma man!!

We actually got to see him front row in Baltimore. Our friend does alot with the entertainement at the pavilion and he siged a shirt and a pic for my daughter. At first he said no then they said Brett she was recently diagnosed with D and loves all your songs "which she does" He said say no more. and signed away... Really great guy..
Its from his solo band. Its such a great song. I got it off of Itunes and I was listening to it and it starts off when he was 5 right before diagnosis, and then when he turned 6 years old how his mom held him tight when he was diagnosed with D..And his father says Daddy sad will fight this son no matter what it takes. The main part of the song goes "Through the Ups and Downs and lots of in betweens" It gives ya the chills because we all can relate.

I watched this last night.. It was great.. In fact at the beginning when he named his charity and said the stuff about Type 1, it brought tears to my eyes!!
You know - I have always had a secret crush on that man - I watched the first episode of his skank show and turned it off, just becuase I don't want my dreams tarnished :o! Not only is he from one the best hair bands of all time - but he seems to be a nice guy (again - I don't watch the skank of love - so just going on other things I see!)

Lee- I've never had the crush on him, but I couldn't watch his show either. I'm not a fan of reality stab in the back shows... I think it's the useless over acting bickering that turns me off.
Oh and please, stop using the term "hair band". How degrading that term is to refer to a decade of the best party/arena rock music that was ever made. Let's analyse:
Rock Band - A band that plays rock.
Country Band - A band that plays country.
Jazz Band - A band that plays jazz.
Hair Band - A band that plays hair?
Back in the day we called it music, 80's Glam Rock/Metal at the very most. There are plenty of bands today where the members have long hair and aren't grouped into that category. I've seen pictures of those Jonas Brothers where they could all use an appointment with the bush wacker themselves.
I still can't believe Bret said he was an expert in that category and if he couldn't get it right... I forget what he said after that. I think he was thinking there would be a Poison song in that category like the other Celebrity DFTL.

Oh, I found the lyrics to It's All Good.
It's All Good - Bret Micheals
I was 5 years old
When they sent Bobby to Vietnam
He got hurt fighting a war there
That he still don't understand
I was 6 years old
Got a disease that got no cure
Doctor said 'Son, Life's about to change
It won't be like it was before.'
and Momma held me close
I could feel her hand shake
Daddy said 'We'll fight this Son
No matter what it takes.'
Through the Ups and Downs
And lots of in betweens
And when your right goes wrong
You'll find something to believe in
Life goes on - World keeps turning
A lesson you keep learning
Sometimes things don't turn out like they should
But It's All Good
When I was just 16
Little Jody broke my heart
She left a big old scar there
That I still talk about
Now you see love to me
Has always been a rose and a thorn
Momma said 'Yes, that love died
But a big hit song was born'
It seemed ramble then
But maybe she was right
Through the darkness
Comes a brighter light
There'll be Ups and Downs
And lots of in betweens
And when your right goes wrong
You'll find something to believe in
Life goes on - World keeps turning
A lesson you keep learning
Sometimes things don't turn out like they should
But It's All Good
Sometimes when I get tired of the dance
Think back to my friend that never had the chance
(guitar)
You see I have a daughter now
And I tell her stories of where I've been
She just laughs to herself
and says 'There daddy goes again'
Talking about Ups and Downs
And lots of in betweens
And when your right goes wrong
You'll find something to believe in
Life goes on - World keeps turning
A lesson you keep learning
Sometimes things don't turn out like they should
But It's All Good
And bad
And lots of in betweens
And when your right goes wrong
You'll find something to believe in
Life goes on - World keeps turning
A lesson you keep learning
Sometimes things don't turn out like they should
But It's All Good
