I have not found any cereal that does not raise my blood sugar very high. I have to take so much insulin to avoid high blood sugar whenever I eat cereal. The more insulin I use, the more weight I gain. There is almost no cereal that has a low glycemic value. Here is a site that gives the glycemic values of most cereals:

The only cereal that works for me is Kashi GoLean Crunch (not GoLean which is somehow completely different). I do have to eat it with full fat milk or unsweetened soy milk, though. I also eat their GoLean Rolls (which are bars) if I don't have time for cereal.

Have you tried Uncle Sam cereals (est 1908)? We have the Original Toasted Whole-Wheat Flakes & Flaxseed kind with 10g fiber! It's low glycemic and my ds likes a drop or two of liquid Stevia on it.

It is 38g per 3/4c BUT 10g fiber to subtract.
But I suppose 3/4c is not as "filling" for an adult as it is for a 7yo. ;)

Also, as mentioned, the GoLean is good and more filling, imo.

BTW, I have enoyed reading your "journal" of D. ;)

Just wondering if you've tried muesli and how it affected your bg?

Also, I don't get the 'more insulin I use, the more weight I gain.' What do you mean?
