I'm just wondering if any bodies had the smae problem as us.
back in oct. i needed a new pump(a scratch on the screen or something.....)and (i didn't know about the pink or the fact that mom was doing this)mom asked if we could change from silver to pink. they said no. however they did let us change from silver to blue. i found out about the pink(and the lack of it being on my body)in dec at a JDRF thing. Anna was mad. very, very mad. i need a new one in march and we asked(and ran around on the phone for about an hour)for a pink one. again we got a no. any other color, fine. but not pink(and i'm guessing that the same goes for green). i'm just wondering if any body else has had this problem. it's my biggest(and only)tick off with Animas:D. just wondering how many other people have had this problem. thanks!

We haven't but I think the reason that they are doing that is that they don't want a bunch of people to "find a reason" to exchange their pump so they can get the cool new pink one. Not saying that your reason for exchange isn't valid but I'm sure that's why.

the thing is, whenever you have any problems they want to give you a new pump. both times they wanted to give us a new pump, and simply said no when we asked about a pink one. blue, fine. black, fine(i guess, i wouldn't want black......). but no pink. i'm going to talk to miss Kristy next time i see her(which will be within the next month:D). she was my trainer when i got diabetes, then went to work at animas, and did my pump start. i really like miss Kristy:cool:. and since she's an animas rep, maybe she can help us figure it out:confused:.

I think also is that when you do an exchange for whatever reason, you get a reconditioned one. Being that the pink/green are new, they most likely have a limited supply and can't swap out an old one for a brand new one.

Another reason, everyone will find a little reason for wanting a new one, so they have to pull from the old colors first.

Jesse's cozmo had a crack by the screw, on the casing.... When I called Deltec, They asked me what color I wanted.. He had a green one, but the cust service lady said I could have any color... that it didnt make a difference... They also sent him a brand new pump - even tho his was a year old....

We had the same problem.
for some reason-can't remember now what it was, but had to get new pump last fall? oh our finish on pump was peeling.
I had just seen the pink in endo office. she could pick any color but pink, luckily she didn't know about pink then.
but later she asked why she couldn't get pink.

Do they have skins for the animas pump? The minimed pumps do. Alex chose a jelly bean one and a couple of others. Only problem is that they are actually stickers so I think when he takes the jelly bean one off, it won't really be useable again.

You can only get pink if you are a new pumper or you pay for an upgrade. They don't want people calling in saying there is a problem just to get a pink pump.

It is a bit frustrating I know. Lia got hers in July and was bummed that they didn't have pink. She saw the pink ones advertised at an Animas sponsored event we went to this fall and really wanted one. I asked our rep who was there and he said we'd have to pay for an upgrade. As much as we would love to do that, it's just not in our budget. Then in Feb (?) her pump died and when they asked me what color to send for the new one I asked about the pink. They said they couldn't do it.

Seriously she wants it so bad that if I had had any clue they would be coming out with a pink one we may have waited a few more months. She saw a little girl in our support group with a pink one this weekend and was so jealous.

I thought they had skins at one time, but I can't find them now.

there are no skins that go on the pump. there used to be stickers that went on the case 'lid', but the case(which they said could be used)doesn't work with the 2020, only the 1250. it peels the paint on the 2020. maybe that's what you're thinking of.

Generally, you get a new shell, but the inside workings are reconditioned (at least this is what Animas told me). This doesn't mean you are getting a a pump that is destined to fail again, but one that has been worked on. As I said prior, the pink is pretty new and limited edition, so it will be a bit before they fall into rotation.
