Last night Dylan and about 10 of his friends were roller blading on our street and Dylan lost his balance and fell. Broke his arm in 3 places. Should I expect anything extreme to happen with his numbers?

Lauren, Mom of
Dylan, 10, dx'd 4/3/08
Simon, 8 no-diabetes
Brooke, 5 1/2 no-diabetes

From what I hear you can expect some high numbers. The body will likely interpret this injury as stress.

Sorry he fell, even sorrier the arm is broken!

What is it with all the broken bones? Ah, nice warm weather. Ok, everyone from here on out, is not allowed to break any arms, legs, toes, fingers, wrist, and the list goes on.

Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Man ... broken bones galore these days, huh?

When Sam broke her arm she went low right at first. We had to treat her at the ER (I think it was a crash after the adrenaline rush from her upset). Then she went high for about 24 hours. After that we didn't see much deviation from her normal BGs.
