I am doing a research paper on the health benefits of humor. While researching, I stumbled across an article about a study done in Japan that showed that blood sugar levels were lower after meals in patients with type 2 diabetes that watched humor movies instead of emotional ones. I did not find anything about type one diabetics though. Did Anyone else hear anything about this?...just curious:)

that's really interesting. i had not heard of that, though I do believe it. Laughing relieves so much stress! It's a wonderful thing. I don't know anything about type1 diabetics and humour, but why wouldn't it hold at least some value as well? Stress raises bs's, laughter may hold the potential to bring them down, or at least counter-act the stress... ...heehee, ok, thats my own musings. Anyways, cool info.

Dr. Wendy Satin Rapaport is the facilitator of our local diabetes support group. She loves humor.

Thank You so much for the link. I found it very interesting.

I thought I'd share some of the things I have learned about laughter:
-Laughing burns caloiries
-Laughing opens up your arteries, causing better cardio-vascular health
-laughing lowers the stress causing hormone
-laughing causes your body to release endorphins, a natural painkiller
-80% of doctors beleive the adage Laughter is the best medicine.

So...keep on laughing:)
