Application deadline approaching for Insulindependence IronKiDz
Parents: the nonprofit diabetes adventure company, Insulindependence, is still accepting applications for the 2008 IronKiDz team until May 1, 2008. Selected youth, ages 9-12, will have the privilege of working one-on-one with a Triabetes athlete mentor over the course of the summer, followed by a 3-day river journey along Wisconsin's Namakogen River in September 2008. IronKiDz will work as a team to prove to themselves that they have what it takes to overcome diabetes in the face of adversity. The plot thickens in Madison, where they'll use their new diabetes management skills to support their designated "training buddy" competing in the 2008 Wisconsin Ironman.
