Has any one ever had their child complain about their pump site itching or hurting? My daughter was complaining about her pump site. We changed it and it took care of the problem. This has happened before. Does any one know why it might have been bothering her so much? It looked fine.

How many days are you leaving it in? Also, I have heard of some kids having an allergy/sensitivity to the adhesives, but it seems to get better when you put a new site on, so maybe that's a non-issue for you. I'd think that maybe she'll just need site changes more frequently. Maybe every other day? That doesn't really answer the "why" part of the questions, but just my though. good luck

My last couple of sites have itched alot on the third day, I have been using sils and covering with IV 3000, and before I changed it out on Sat , it was itching like crazy.
My numbers were good, no redness to the site or anything, just the itching . No problems with this set and I am due to change it this evening, we'll see how the day goes.

Van complains of itching quite a bit. I now put tegaderm on the skin first. We too had no obvious reaction on the skin. he says he thinks it's when the needle wiggles (we're on a rapid D in the tummy). The tegaderm has helped a little but it still seems to bug him from about day 3 but it doesn't mention it so much now.

I was told that the site should never *hurt* it's not supposed to hurt, if it's hurting could be that the canula is pressing up against a piece of tissue or it has moved from original position..
Im not 100% if that's your problem but im passing on what I was told since my sons site hurted him one day and sure enough by the end of that day before I changed it cause it was only the 2nd day I had my first *No Delivery* Alarm

Phillip has on occasion mentioned that his site itches. Not really complaining. I think he sort of accepts it as part of pumping. Its not very often though, and i havent noticed any rashes or anything.
