I was on the chat site last night, again complaining about the usual T1/T2 mixup. We had a brainstorming session for new names for T1D that doesn't have the word "diabetes" in it. Name That D, if you will.

The winner was: acute idiopathic isletopathy.

So I went out and registered isletopathy.org right away, just like neuropathy (http://www.neuropathy.org/).

Next time some buffoon asks you what you're doing when giving a shot to your kid... whip out these 12 syllalbles and see if you get some sympathy, instead of "why did you feed him so much candy, you awful person!"

Great...now, can you just put up a pronounciation guide to go with it? And do we have to say all three words at the same time? Can we take a breather? :D

Sounds fancier, that's for sure...and it would bring d to a whole new level!;)

I can't believe that you registered it! Really??

Thanks!

I have problem explaining my son's dx. He has diabetes insipidus also. It has to do with his pituitary. I wish it didn't have diabetes in the name. I usually just say he has diabetes and insipidus.

So you're sure they aren't suffering from islet apathy?:p

Let us know when you launch the website. Hope your birthday was fabulous.
