Just in passing Dean told me he'd been invited to attend the US Presidential inauguration. He said he wouldn't be going, but thought it was cool he'd been invited (through the National Society of Collegiate Scholars). Well, I didn't think anything of it until I looked it up just now. Now I know why he blew it off in conversation - with airfare, it would cost us over $3,000 for the 4 night conference. They have a pdf for fundraising ideas on the web site. I'm almost inclined to start to dream that this could become a reality. What a tremendous experience this could be for Dean, but that sure is a lot of money to raise. :o
