View Full Version : We have our trial cgms..

The minimed nurse to the house yesterday afternoon. We went through how it works, etc and then we put the sensor in Jessi.. When we hooked up the minilink, it didnt work. We think it is because of scar tissue in the area, so she left, and 2 hrs later I hooked it up and it worked great.

The nurse that hooked us up is D and uses the cgms. I am not sure if it is her experience or what, but we got a great sensor so far. It is very close to her finger stick #s. We made it through till about 4am without any alarms, and then we started getting predicting low alarms. I was expecting that as she usually drops at 4a-6a.

I am so ready to start fighting insurance right now to get this covered. We are also considering just paying out of pocket for it now while we fight. I know not all the sensors will be this great, and I will have aggravation with it, but so far it is working awesome!

Great news! Keep us posted. You don't blog do you? We're in the middle of talking to our Minimed rep, dr. office, etc... again. We'd like to have our son CGMing this summer when he's home. Wishing you great success CGMing!! :)

I hope you can get insurance to agree to coverage.:cwds:

I would pay out of pocket for Liv's CGM.
