Pump has arrived- and a surprise!

UPS delivered Connor's MiniMed pump yesterday as scheduled. He was so excited. He actually asked if he could take it for show and tell Friday just so his friends can see it.

Monday I had a message from the nurse who will do our training. She said our children's hospital was running 2+ weeks getting pump start orders to them so she would be back in touch as soon as she knew more. That would give us an end of April start date.

Now for the surprise!:) The nurse called me yesterday evening to let me know she already had Connor's pump start orders. She could not believe how fast they moved on his case. She wants to meet with us Friday afternoon to get him hooked up if I can get off work a couple of hours early. Now my head is spinning. I am so incredibly nervous and excited all at the same time. And I only have 2 more nights to complete pump school online since it is required before our pump start.

thats great..I felt the same way about pumping scared but excited. Its been a few weeks for us an I love it and so does she.. If I can get the hang of it anyone can :p

Congratulations!! You'll like the freedom it gives from injections. I had to force my husband to do the pump school on the CD (it was required for us as well). The only reason he stayed awake was because the actress on the CD was attractive. :rolleyes:

It's nice that they're so proactive with your training. :D
